UpintheAR! 2025 – Art, Technology and Sustainability in the Streets of Matosinhos

Support UpintheAR! in Matosinhos. The 2025 edition brought temporary art and immersive technology to public spaces. We need your help to cover the final costs and create new permanent public artworks in 2026.

Between September and November 2025, UpintheAR! transformed Matosinhos with contemporary art, temporary installations, and immersive technology developed by local and international creators.
We created a vibrant, free, and accessible cultural route that connected artists, students, volunteers, families, and curious individuals of all ages.

This edition demonstrated the enormous potential that Matosinhos has to host innovative public art and creative experiences that bring people closer to their territory.
However, as is the case with many independent cultural projects, a portion of the production, artist, and technological development costs remains to be covered.

That's why we launched this campaign:
to cover the final costs of UpintheAR! 2025 and, throughout 2026, continue raising funds to create new permanent public art pieces.

Budget and due dates

2026 Onwards: Building Permanent Art

This campaign remains active throughout the year to support:

• The creation of new permanent works of public art.

• The growth of accessible cultural routes

• New projects with schools, associations and young creators.

• The construction of an ongoing artistic program for Matosinhos.

The goal is clear:
to make UpintheAR! a lasting, sustainable cultural movement with a real impact on the territory.

How will the funds be used?

• 45% — Fees for artists and creators

• 25% — Materials and production

• 15% — Immersive/digital development

• 10% — Educational and community actions

• 5% — Operational and platform costs

If we exceed the target, we will invest directly in new permanent projects starting in 2026.
