With this project we bought a house in the village of Inguias in the municipality of Belmonte to remodel and make it available in local accommodation. For 100 euros you can spend a week in this new house or in one of the houses with roots.
Casas com Raízes is a project that was born in 2017 when promoters bought the first house in the village of Rebelhos, with about 50 inhabitants, to recover and install local accommodation.
Revitalizing the villages is one of our missions. We intend to bring people to visit the village and support the recovery of these ruined houses, in order to gain a new life.
Casas com Raízes already has 3 houses acquired; one in operation and two in the works phase and that during the year 2021 will be available to welcome customers.
Objective:
Acquire a granite house, with 30 square meters in the village of Inguias, municipality of Belmonte, 5 minutes from the village where we live and we want to share this project with more people.
Thus, we propose this fundraising campaign to acquire the house and carry out the rehabilitation works. Whoever invests, in return, will benefit from accommodation in this new house or in one of the Houses with Roots available.
The happy ending
As a way of thanking and rewarding we offer what we know how to do best: the possibility of enjoying one or more nights in this new home and belonging to the club of investors who like this idea and help to give new life to the villages of Portugal.
With small contributions from many people we will make an innovative project and promote investments in the villages, enabling unique experiences.

Mafalda Pereira
Born and raised in the Lisbon region. Graduated in Educational Sciences in Lisbon. Passionate about training and contributing to the development and growth of people. Mafalda is also a defender of our country and of our traditions and roots.
Descending from a small village, called Rebelhos, in the municipality of Sabugal, he considers himself lucky to have a land that has always received and caressed it and where he grew up in a healthy way.
In the village he spent his childhood holidays and keeps the best experiences and memories.
The desire for a better quality of life, with greater proximity to people and contributing to revitalize the village spoke louder and in 2014 decides to leave the city and live in the village of Rebelhos.
Today, as Manuel's mother, he feels his change with greater sense, being able to give his son the freedom and closeness of contact with the community and with nature.
Professionally, she remains linked to training and real estate and is very happy to live in the village and to be contributing to bring new people to a healthier life.
Ricardo Nabais
Ricardo is from Carrola, parish of Casteleiro, municipality of Sabugal. A born defender of the municipality and someone who has sought to make an active contribution to its dynamism.
He studied in Viseu, worked 5 years in the Faia Brava reserve, in Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo and decided to return home. He has worked in the real estate business since then and has been an entrepreneur over the years, promoting several projects that have in common the revitalization and dynamization of the region.
Our villages are depopulated and it is important to bring them to life and attract new people.
Ricardo and Mafalda acquired and recovered their first home in 2017.
The house that is now a T2 was an old haystack that was recovered and transformed into local accommodation.
The T2 initially created for local accommodation, meanwhile was leased for a year, to a person who moved from Lisbon to work in Guarda. The change for work reasons at the end of a year, gave rise to the arrival of the family, wife and son. Today they are in the process of buying a new house in the village to recover and for permanent housing.
Within the scope of this project there are already two other houses in recovery.
Mafalda and Ricardo feel motivated to continue to restore houses in the villages and attract new visitors and, potentially, inhabitants to the region.
You are the next to promote the revitalization of the villages and experience life in the village.
