We're finishing our degree in Film at Universidade da Beira interior and Final Project is the most important subject in our academic path. "Carne Mal Caçada" was born within this subject, a project that even though it was well received by the academic comiteé we still had to fight for it to be approved.
Even though its approval is a relief, we find ourselves in one of the most relevant phases which will determine if this short has legs to walk: financing.

Synopsis
César, an undeveloped boy, tries to change his life habits. For this purpose, he decides to join a hunting club, it does not go as planned.

THE DIRECTOR | GUILHERME ALVÃO NOGUEIRA - Guilherme Alvão Nogueira (Porto) studied video at Escola Artística de Soares dos Reis, then continuing his studies in the film area at Universidade da Beira Interior, in Covilhã. Throughout his route as a studant he has been directing a few school shorts, exploring above all the areas of documentary and experimental film, searching for a personal cinematographic language. Highlighting the films “Eutopia” (2016), “Comportamentos de um Ser em Movimento…” (2018) and “X1000” (2019).

THE PRODUCER AND ART DIRECTOR | IRMA FREITAS - Irma Freitas was born in Setúbal, 1998. Studied Visual Arts at Escola Secundária Dr. José Afonso. In high school, she found an interest in film. For higher education she enrolled in Film at Universidade da Beira Interior. Even though at first she was interested in script, Irma acquired an interest in Art Direction on her first year, role she practiced in projects like “Guardiã de Jasmim” or “Sete Saias”.

THE SCRIPTWRITER AND SOUND DIRECTOR | JORGE LUCAS - Born in Barcelos, Jorge Lucas started his route in the film area in 2015, when he directed his first short: “Refluxo Drástico”. The next year he enrolled in Universidade da Beira Interior, with a degree in Film.Here he worked in some projects: “Mãe, Hoje Cozinha o Tio” (2018), in which he was the scriptwriter, sound director and art director and art director; "Flies” (2018) an experimental short.

THE CINEMATOGRAPHER | PEDRO MESQUITA - Pedro Mesquita was born in Guarda, 1998. After finishing high school he enrolled in cinema at Universidade da Beira Interior. Wanting to be a director, and even though he already had a few opportunities to direct projects, Pedro intends to use his college years to experiment all the different areas needed to make a film. During those experiences he's been evolving a taste and interest for cinematography, a role he's practiced in various projects: “Tudo menos um documentário”, “SaudadeS” and “Só”.

THE EDITOR | FLÁVIO ROCHA - Flávio Rocha, born in 1996, grew up in Paredes. In the year 2016 he applied with success to a degree in film at Universidade da Beira Interior. In “Tudo Menos Um Documentário” accumulated the roles of script supervisor and editor, functions where he found his vocation. After this project, he co-directed the documentary shorts “SaudadeS” and “Só”, having also taken the role of editor in both projects.
