Pre-sales and crowdfunding campaign for the completion and launch of Búfalo Sentado's 1st album – Folklore Terrestre.
Folklore Terrestre is the first phonographic record of the Búfalo Sentado collective. The disc creation process is in its final stages and we now need your help to get this sound delicacy out of the oven. The sound is organic, biologic, it breathes in the fundamental vibration, the one that allows you to plant the seeds of imagination and reap the uprising of the spirit.
After we started recording, editing and mixing the songs, we exhausted the possibilities of editing the first disc independently with only our own resources. We now come to ask you to join us and support us with your generosity, in an exchange that is intended to be a fortunate one for all. With this campaign we will be able to cover the costs of mastering, disc printing, making a video clip, graphic art and music registration costs. In exchange, we have several option packages that include the free download of the album or the physical disc before it officially comes out, t-shirts, tickets for the album launch concert in Lisbon or Viseu, participation in a music video, private concerts, etc. .
The edition of "Folklore Terrestre - traditional music of the milky way" is the closing of a long cycle for us and the possibility of renewing the life of the Sitting Buffalo by assuming it as a living project, a place of meeting and sharing between musicians and listeners. BUFFALO SITTING
The Sitting Buffalo is a mutant project. Over time, several musicians came to give body, sweat, soul, heart and energy for this large creature to continue sitting, following its path. The collective has been forging a very particular sound, filling with life songs that stand out for their originality - a brew of world, folk, afro, rock, and jazz seasoned with a handful of abstract, organic poetry looking for meanings. Founded initially by Miguel Soares, who anchored a collective that unfolded into various formations, Búfalo Sentado has had an irregular life that may become more stable with the publication of this first work. The album was supported by a group of 6 musicians and a group of 5 guests: Miguel Soares - acoustic guitar, voice and composition / Daniel Neto - electric guitars / Xico Santos - electric bass and double bass / Diogo Andrade - drums / David Menezes - percussions / Carolina Varela - vocals / Eva Parmenter - concertina / Braima Galissa - kora / Li Cheong - guqin, bansuri / Francisco Andrade - tenor saxophone. The initial capture and editing was done by Fábio Costa Miranda at SOUNDinnovation Studios , the final mixing and editing was done by Dominique Borde at Toolateman Studios , the design and graphic art were created by Janine Fern at J9 Atelier .
As a tribute to those who walked with us over all these years, we remember friends like Tiago Alves (founding member) and his groove-filled bass lines, Diogo Melo de Carvalho who, with a hybrid percussion set, led us incisively with his astute pulse, Afonso Castanheira who brought with him the double bass and the ancient art of being a pirate with an open heart, Nuno Correia from Cadeira Amarela who took us to travel through the center and north of the country, always encouraging good direction in more uncertain times, Pedro Gens - master of rhythm - who several times transformed his drums into an entire orchestra in duo concerts, Diogo Ataíde Dias who sustained the life of Búfalo with the unique beauty of his double bass arrangements, José Lencastre who breathed into the recording process of the record with the voracious elegance of his sonic sorcery.
Now it is you who join us on this path and help Sitting Buffalo enter a new phase of its life.
