This campaign aims to raise funds to help save the Bees. In this sense, the total amount collected will be allocated for the acquisition and repopulation of Bees in areas affected by ASIAN WASP in Serra da Lousã Region.
Attentive to the serious problems that Beekeeping faces (attacks of the Asian wasp, fires, pesticides) and feeling the urgency to act in defense of the bees and the maintenance of pollination as an important factor in the balance of ecosystems. We want to restore and install apiaries and hives in our region and thus preserve and safeguard the future of these territories.
Beekeeping is a fundamental activity for the sustainability of life! Pollination contributes to plant biodiversity and ecological balance. It has an integrated and economically sustainable role in rural areas. Bees are the only ones responsible for pollination of more than 80% of the world's food production.
A biodiversidade é fruto da polinização

Favourable region to the beekeeping practice with diversified flora (ex: heather, chestnut trees, eucalyptus), away from the urban pressure and framed in the region DOP - Mel serra da Lousã.
BeeHive - save the bees has as mission to defend and value natural Beekeeping, contribute to increase the production of Organic Honey and implement the respective Certification in MPB. We aim not only to promote Cooperativism and knowledge transfer as a way to help beekeepers in the region to use good practices in beekeeping but also develop actions to raise awareness among the young, and the local community with visits to the apiaries alerting them to the importance of bees in the ecological balance of nature.
