The ASC Project - Sustainable and Cooperative Villages is the response of the cooperative ECG, CRL to a recurring difficulty felt by many of our cooperators in accessing affordable, ecological and quality housing.
The ASC Project - Sustainable and Cooperative Villages, is the response of ECG - Cultural Cooperative CRL to a recurring difficulty felt by many of our cooperators in accessing affordable, ecological and quality housing .
We want to build low-cost buildings with the incorporation of sustainable materials and technical solutions that combine comfort and quality and also combine the individual space with the community and cooperative space. We want to guarantee leisure spaces and common gardens for agricultural production in each of our villages.
We aspire that this project of ours can come to affirm itself, still, as a relevant contribution to innovative responses in the right to housing, implying the collective involvement for the attraction and fixation of young and less young people, outside the massification of large urban centers.
Although we already have more than 400 members, supporting and trusting our cooperative on a daily basis, we also need your support for the acquisition of the land where the first twelve houses will be built, which will allow us to carry out the final test of the relevance of this project for our region and, who knows, even for our country.

About the author
ECG, CRL is a multi-sector cooperative based in Braga. The acronym ECG stands for "European Citizens Group" having been created as a result of the dynamization of a project under the "Grundtvig" program which, in Vienna, Austria, brought together citizens from several European Union countries.
The cooperative's corporate purpose is to satisfy, on a non-profit basis, the economic, social or cultural needs of its members and to carry out various initiatives that can carry out operations with third parties.
We create and develop projects to support immigrants and emigrants, the senior population, we encourage digital inclusion initiatives and the provision of new support services to the community and micro and small companies.
In July 2019 we decided to expand our activity to the Housing and Construction cooperative branch, having launched our project to build sustainable and cooperative villages.
Budget and due dates
The values obtained through this crowdfunding operation will support, in this project start-up phase, the acquisition of the land that will then allow us to apply for national and community funds in order to guarantee the necessary financial resources for the adaptation works of the land and construction of the first twelve single-family houses.
