This is a monologue written and conceived by me.

Somewhere in the past, ( 2015 ), a man abandoned by his One and Only True Love, spent the last six years of his life, incessantly and daily, writing a daily love letter to him.

But these letters never reached their recipient.

Now, it's 2063, somewhere in the middle of the floor, someone finds a video record left by this man in love.

This monologue is a brief tour of the most important and intense love letters.

But that this time and despite never having reached its recipient, the public will have the opportunity to feel, reflect, comment and share their emotions with this man who is no longer with us.

On stage, a character, sitting on a bench, lit by an old lamp. Alone for about 50 minutes, he goes through his story that was once Love, but which only memories remain and Desamor (for not sympathizing with the words Hatred, Rancor, Contempt, Emptiness), replaces them with Desamor. In the course of his monologue, the character utters his letters, his memories, his longing that never reached the recipient, his Great and Only Love of his life. Waiting from the public for reactions, comments, opinions of similar experiences or not. Only one certainty remains, that he will never return to Love, because in his heart there is only room for One. One that is no longer there.

About the author

Born in Funchal, Madeira, on the 3rd of January 1976. In 1983, he began the Musical Training course at the Conservatory of Music of Madeira, until 1992. He began his theatrical activity in 1993, on the island of Madeira, in the Group “O Moniz”. From 1995 to 1996 he worked at the Teatro Experimental do Funchal. In 1996 he moved to the city of Porto where between 1996/1999 he took the Interpretation course at the Balleteatro Escola Profissional. He worked on Dance with Isabel Barros and Né Barros. Between 1998 and 2000 he works with the Visões Úteis Theater Company. In 1998, he began dubbing for Somnorte studios. From 2000, he became a resident actor at Teatro de Marionetas do Porto, until 2015. In cinema, with directors José Pedro Sousa and Francisco Pinto.

He staged “Amores de D. Perlimplim”, an adaptation by Frederico Garcia Lorca, for Cale Estúdio Teatro; “Until when…??”, by Mário de Sá-Carneiro and “Fala-me de Amor”, by Pina Baush, with interpretation students from Balleteatro Escola Profissional and “THE THEORY OF A CONDUCTING WIRE”, for the Grupo de GRETUA University Theater, in Aveiro.

He is a folder for Somnorte and Cinemágica studios. He dubbed the voice of Disney's Aladdin, among others, such as RAPHAEL, from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, SONIC, THEODORE, from the films Alvim & the Chipmunks. He also doubled real image series, highlighting the series that was broadcast on TVI for 4 years, “DAWSON'S CREEK”.

From 2005 to 2015, he taught Interpretation, Movement and Voice at Balleteatro Escola Profissional. He worked with directors João Paulo Seara Cardoso; Carlos Varela; Eduardo Luiz; Ilda Teixeira; Ze Ferreira; Jorge Levi; Joao Garcia Miguel; Ligia Roque; Ana Vitorino; Catarina Martins; Carlos Costa; Pedro Carreira; Jose Wallenstein.

In 2021 he was invited by the Baltazar Dias Municipal Theater, in Funchal, for an initiative entitled MICROMONÓLOGOS 2.0, he wrote an original text of his own, staged and performed, with the title of Eu sou tu e tu em mim.

This application will be an asset to my professional path. And together with this monologue AMOR/DESAMOR, I wrote a book that I intended to launch at the same time as the show premiered. It should be noted that the purpose of this monologue to premiere in Madeira, has as its primary objective to disseminate and promote Madeiran artists and that later we will make a National and International tour.
