The unprecedented humanitarian crisis that is affecting the Venezuelan people and the Portuguese community in Venezuela, caused by food shortages and more than 80% of medicines, led VENEXOS to join the Humanitarian Aid Program for Venezuela (https://ayudahumanitariavenezuela.org/) (which is based in the USA), through which it is promoting a campaign to collect medicines and food for children up to 6 years old that are sent to Venezuela, with the purpose of helping the Venezuelan people and the resident Portuguese community in that country.
Here in Portugal our network of Volunteers collect the medicines / food, check the validities and conditions and then put in boxes properly packed to send to Venezuela. The medicines and foods we send must always be valid for at least 6 months.
All associations belonging to the Humanitarian Aid Program for Venezuela (PAHPV) are only authorized to receive our humanitarian aid because they are properly "checked and verified" by PAHPV volunteers in Venezuela to avoid any misuse of donations.
To date, under the Humanitarian Aid Program for Venezuela, more than 4 tons have been sent since 2016 (the year of foundation of Venexos) and 1.4 tons of food for children. These donations were essentially given the following foundations, La Pastillita Foundation (www.facebook.com/FundacionLaPastillita) and Fundación Manos para Vargas
(https://www.facebook.com/manosparavargas), Margarita Sonrie (https://instagram.com/margaritasonrie) and Caritas de Venezuela (Valencia) (http://www.caritasvln.org). Although we have recently expanded our range of foundations and food has been delivered to different orphanages in Venezuela.
For example, with € 10,000, we can put two (2) tons of medicines / food into our associations in Venezuela.
As a testimony that medicines and food are properly distributed to the people who need them the most, we always ask for testimony from people who receive our help, so our Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/venexos/) has multiple photos and Videos of people and children who receive our help.
In the past RTP did a report where it showed how the medicines arrived for Venezuela: RTP Front Line - A Fugitive People - https://www.rtp.pt/play/p4231/e326513/linda-de-frente and recently the TVI reported on our association: https://youtu.be/E1Om9w6voVA
