"A Joana que Queimou os Pais" is an independent fiction short film, filmed in Porto and Lisbon, by a team of young film students. We ask for your help to complete the film in the best conditions.
Synopsis
Cecília feels invisible, and her obsession with the story of an arsonist child only seems to be taken as something insignificant, that accompanies her in various moments of her life, looking for something in reunions with past and present friends, encounters with her boyfriend, and with herself.
Note of Intent
Cecília is like a ghost in her head, no one sees her, despite everyone seeing her. She doesn't want to be the center of attention, and although she looks for banality, in the middle of the crowd, she feels insignificant, like an extra in her own life. But the stories go on, whether they're good, bad, or so-so, and insignificance cannot be underestimated, for it's the little things that make the big ones. It is this almost invisible insignificance that we intend to show.
About the author
In addition to being able to take the film to festivals, with this film we intend to be able to work on this script, also putting to the test our abilities to make an independent short film with the knowledge we have acquired since starting the cinema course.
Although the team behind the film "A Joana que Queimou os Pais" is made up of students from the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema, it is through Oedipus Filmes that we got together to produce this short film, thinking the production around the director's own personality .
