Sabor Railway - from Pocinho to Moncorvo, on Trainz Simulator!

Virtual reconstruction of the first 12 km of the Sabor Railway, from Pocinho to Moncorvo, for Trainz railway simulator!

Sabor Railway is one of the most fascinating Portuguese railway lines, and it inspired the lyrics of the famous song "Eu vou a Miranda ver os pauliteiros" (I'm going to Miranda to see the stick dancers). It has the largest railway gradient in Portugal, and its first few kilometers of arduous climb up the Douro Valley are breathtaking.

With a professional recreation, based on historical documents of this route, the aim is to obtain a faithful and playable reconstruction of the first 12 km of this 105 km route, from the Pocinho station (Douro Line) in the Douro region to Torre de Moncorvo!

About the author

Hello, I'm Daniel Conde, and I've been passionate about railways since I was a child. I was a user of the Tua and Douro lines from 1994 to 2006, founder of the Civic Movement for the Tua Line (2006) and the Corgo Line (2010), and I won a national entrepreneurship award with a Railway Tourism project on the Tua Line (2010).

I was a Management Advisor for the Mirandela Metro (2009-2012), and I published a complete reopening study of the Sabor Line, included in the book "The Sabor Valley Line: A Border Railway from Pocinho to Zamora" (2015).

I maintain several civic initiatives in favor of the narrow-gauge railway lines of the Douro region, which you can follow on the Facebook page " Via Estreita ", and virtual projects on the page " Tuga Trainz ".

Budget and due dates

To cover the many hours of editing, I'm presenting a budget of €1,500.00, to be raised by February 14th!
