StoryOwl aims to be more than a bookstore-café. We want to create a haven for dreamers, a meeting place between pages and aromas, a space where words come to life and time slows down. Our vision is to build a place where every book has a story and every cup of coffee brings inspiration, in the heart of the historic center of Torres Vedras. But to open the doors to this dream, we need you. Creating a space like this, with a carefully selected selection of books, a specialty coffee and a vibrant cultural program, requires a large investment – from the remodeling of the space to the curation of books and products. About the author

Story Owl is a dream shared by two people from different backgrounds, but who complement each other in their desire to create a unique cultural space.

Catarina Alves de Sousa

Born and raised in Porto, Catarina is proud of her northern roots. With a degree in Communication and Culture from the Faculty of Arts at the University of Lisbon and a master's degree in Journalism from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, she has always lived between reality and fiction – and loves imagining new worlds. She is one of those people who gets involved in a thousand and one projects, because she believes that ideas should not just remain on paper. This way of life has given rise to several initiatives linked to writing and creativity, in addition to a book that has already been published. Now, with Story Owl, she wants to create a space where literature and inspiration meet the aroma of coffee.

Manuel Nogueira

Born in Coimbra, Manuel is a programmer and founded his own company to work as a freelancer on projects that he is passionate about. But his creativity is not limited to code: he is also a drummer and comedian, always ready to transform any moment into a show of rhythm and humor. Now, he embarks alongside Catarina on this adventure to bring Story Owl to life, combining his entrepreneurial spirit with the desire to create a cultural refuge where ideas and stories can flow. Together, they believe that Story Owl can be a meeting point for lovers of books, coffee and culture, and they want to make this dream come true with your help!

Budget and due dates

StoryOwl is not just a bookstore. It is a cultural space, a welcoming café and a meeting point for lovers of literature and good conversation. We want to create a haven in the heart of the historic centre of Torres Vedras, where books and coffee come together to provide unforgettable experiences. But to make this dream come true, we need your help! Why do we need €5,000? To open the doors of StoryOwl, there are some fundamental steps we need to take: 🔨 Works and Renovation of the Space – We want to create a welcoming and inspiring environment. Part of the budget will be allocated to small works, such as installing shelves for books, a counter for the café and some touches to the decoration that will make StoryOwl a unique space. 📚 Initial Stock of Books – To start, we need a selection of special titles, focusing on international books that are hard to find in Portugal and local authors. The first €5,000 will help ensure that we have a good collection for the first few months. Help us open StoryOwl and transform our passion for books into a unique experience in Torres Vedras.
