This project aims to present a new and refreshing visual approach to the classic Kama Sutra, from a more informed, inclusive and sensitive point of view through the work of 34 national artists or residents in Portugal
We are the Pleasure Plexus collective and we need your help to publish an erotic illustration book!
This project aims to present a new and refreshing approach to the classic Kama Sutra, from a more informed, inclusive and sensitive point of view. The intention of the work is not to educate, but to normalize the approach we have with intimacy and pleasure through illustration coming from a desire to change the little-informed way and full of taboos of our society. Upon studying the work, we came to the conclusion that it has its classic value, which is worth much more than the explicit content presented in most of the Kama Sutras that come into our hands . Rather, it is also a manual on how to live life, with maximum pleasure, in private life and in community.
To live a full life, according to the Kama Sutra, one must know one or more arts such as singing, making perfumes, mixing drinks or other more complex activities such as knowing Architecture, Chemistry and even the Art of War. It is in these arts that our project has its essence and originality: instead of illustrating the typical sexual positions we are used to, we asked 34 national artists or those residing in Portugal to illustrate some of these arts through their point of view on the which is eroticism and sexuality. From amateur artists to professionals in the creative fields, from artists who had never done works of an erotic nature to others who make it their artistic career, from the most subtle to the most explicit, this book has a lot to offer!
