About the author
Ricardo Prata is a 44-year-old architect who works in Porto and the northern region of the country. Appreciator of the monumentality of the granitic landscapes, he started from a young age by visiting Vila do Gerês with his grandparents. The curiosity about the fauna of the Peneda-Gerês National Park was maintained as I followed news of its disappearance. Other trips have seen wolves in the Serra da Culebra or wild orcas in the fjords of the Lofoten Islands. His long-standing interest in cinema leads him to documentaries filmed in the recent past, with images of life in the most remote corners of Gerês. In 2021, he decides to create a collection with 5 fascicles on the built and immaterial heritage of the PNPG, which will be followed by new projects.
