My cat Maxine is fighting for her life. She's only 3 months old and I adopted her from the street.

Recently, she was diagnosed with FIP (feline infectious peritonitis), a serious disease that, without treatment, is almost always fatal. In the last few days, everything has happened very quickly — between consultations, exams, and even surgery that ended up not confirming what they initially suspected, Maxine has become even more fragile.

Now, a new hope has emerged: there is treatment for FIP, but it is long and very expensive. Unfortunately, the costs already accumulated with surgery and hospitalization are high, and at this moment I do not have the financial capacity to bear it all alone.

Maxine is much more than a cat. She's family. She's daily companionship, constant affection, and an irreplaceable presence in my life.

I'm asking for help to achieve:

• To cover the costs of FIP treatment.

• To pay part of the veterinary expenses already incurred.

• Ensure that she has a real chance of survival.

My name is Rafael Duarte and I am 21 years old. I am just starting my adult life and my journey in the world of work. Unfortunately, Maxine became ill at a time when I still lack the financial stability and savings to face such a heavy and unexpected diagnosis.

I live independently and have no family or financial support to help me with these high costs. Everything I earn from my work goes towards basic expenses, and although I'm giving my all for her, I can't do it alone anymore. Maxine is my daily support and my only family on this journey—I can't give up on her because of lack of money. Therefore, I ask for your solidarity to help me save the one I love most.

Budget and due dates

Specific Medication (GS-441524): approximately €900 (Approximate cost for 84 days of treatment, depending on Maxine's weight).

Medication administration: €800 (84 daily vaccines at the same time)

Follow-up tests: €300 (Complete blood tests are required at 30, 60 and 90 days to adjust the dose).

Outstanding Consultations and Hospitalization Fees: €1200 (To settle outstanding costs from surgery and initial examinations).

Extra medication such as anti-inflammatories and antibiotics.

Platform Fees (PPL): Approximately €90 (PPL retains a percentage for management and payment costs).

If the amount raised exceeds the direct costs, the surplus will be donated to an animal protection association.
