The "Nutrir para Brilhar" (Nourish to Shine) program combats child malnutrition, supporting 1,500 vulnerable children in Nampula, Niassa, and Zambézia with nutrition, food education, screening, and referral of at-risk cases.

NOURISH TO SHINE - Because no child should grow up hungry.

In Mozambique, many children live in contexts of poverty, social vulnerability, orphanhood, food insecurity, and limited access to essential services.

For a child, malnutrition means more than just feeling hungry.

It can compromise growth, development, learning, health, and opportunities to build a dignified future.

It was in the face of this reality that KIDS THE BRIGHT STARS - MOZAMBIQUE , a humanitarian organization dedicated to the protection and development of vulnerable children and communities, developed the NOURISH TO SHINE Project .

The program is part of our CPE Project – Caring, Protecting and Educating – and represents a first specific intervention in the area of child nutrition.

Who do we want to support?

In the first phase, we intend to work directly with:

1,500 children

Between 6 months and 7 years of age , priority will be given to orphaned, vulnerable, and socially disadvantaged children.

The first phase will be implemented in:

  • Nampula - 500 children
  • Niassa - 500 children
  • Mulevala, Zambézia - 500 children

The intervention will initially last 12 months , with the possibility of expansion to other provinces and new implementation cycles, according to the results achieved and the resources mobilized.

What are we going to do?

NUTRIR PARA BRILHAR doesn't simply aim to deliver food.

We want to build an integrated community intervention.

The resources mobilized will allow us to support:

  • Acquisition and distribution of food products and enriched flour;
  • Nutritional support activities;
  • Nutritional screening and monitoring;
  • Nutrition education for parents and caregivers;
  • Raising awareness about hygiene, safe water, and disease prevention;
  • Identifying children at risk;
  • Referral of cases requiring clinical care;
  • Community mobilization;
  • Training and capacity building for teams;
  • Monitoring and evaluating the results;
  • Documentation and accountability.

The intervention will be developed in collaboration with community actors, local authorities, health services, and specialized partners.

Why do we need you?

We have a project, a team, and a vision.

But to reach the children, we need resources.

A contribution may seem small when viewed in isolation. However, when many people unite around the same cause, small contributions can be transformed into food, materials, transportation, screenings, and follow-up care for hundreds of children.

We're not simply asking for a donation.

We are inviting you to participate in an intervention that aims to give a vulnerable child something fundamental:

The opportunity to grow with more health, dignity, and hope.

Our commitment

KIDS THE BRIGHT STARS - MOZAMBIQUE is committed to using the resources raised exclusively for the purposes foreseen in the project, maintaining principles of transparency, responsibility, child protection and accountability.

The results of the first phase will be monitored and documented to allow for an assessment of the impact achieved and to support a possible expansion to other communities and provinces.

Help us restore the shine.

1,500 children.
3 Intervention Regions.
12 months of work.
One mission: To combat malnutrition and protect the future.

Nourish to shine.

About the author

About the Prosecutor

I am Cornélio Baptista Jaime , President of KIDS THE BRIGHT STARS - MOZAMBIQUE (KBS-MOZAMBIQUE) , an organization committed to the protection, care and development of orphaned, vulnerable and socially disadvantaged children in Mozambique.

I assumed leadership of this organization driven by the conviction that every child, regardless of their social condition or where they were born, deserves to grow up with dignity, protection, adequate food, education, and opportunities to build a better future .

My responsibility as President of KBS-MOZAMBIQUE is to transform this vision into concrete actions, mobilizing people, partners, and resources to respond to the needs of the most vulnerable communities. It is within this commitment that the "NUTRIR PARA BRILHAR" (Nutrite to Shine) Project was born, an initiative designed to contribute to the prevention and reduction of child malnutrition through nutritional support, food education, community awareness, monitoring, and referral of at-risk cases.

As the promoter of this campaign, I personally commit to ensuring that the resources raised are used responsibly, transparently, and in line with the defined objectives , promoting proper monitoring of activities and accountability to our supporters and partners.

I deeply believe in the power of solidarity. An organization can start a mission, but it is through the union of communities, partners, institutions, and citizens that this mission can reach a scale capable of transforming lives.

Therefore, I invite you to learn about and support NOURISH TO SHINE .

By supporting this campaign, you will not only be contributing to a project. You will be participating in a collective effort to provide 1,500 children with better conditions to grow, learn and develop their potential .

As President of KBS-Mozambique, I believe that no child should lose their sparkle due to a lack of opportunities.

Together, we can nurture to make it shine.
