The Festa do Fututo (Festival of the Future) is a community festival that brings art, culture, and environmental awareness to the interior of Portugal. Every contribution makes a difference in keeping alive a project that believes the future is also built in community.

We are the team organizing the 3rd edition of the Festa do Futuro (August 1st & 2nd in Souto, Abrantes) .

For several months we have been meeting every week to prepare another edition of this project, which we believe is special for Souto, for the region, and for all the people who participate in it.

The Festa do Futuro is much more than a festival. It's a meeting place for art, community, and the environment. For two days, hundreds of people visit Souto to watch performances, participate in workshops, discover artists, meet local producers, and reflect on the challenges of our time.

In a rural area with limited access to diverse cultural offerings, we want to continue creating opportunities for encounters, participation, and creation for all ages.

Over the past few months we have applied for grants and sought funding to make this edition possible.

But it's still not enough.

Right now we need to raise €5,000 (plus €508.12 for PPL commissions) to realize the program we envisioned for this edition.

If we are unable to raise this amount, we will have to cut back a significant portion of the musical and artistic programming. This means fewer opportunities for the artists involved, fewer visitors, and a reduced impact on the local economy .

The Festa do Futuro generates activity in Souto and the surrounding villages. Cafes, restaurants, accommodations, artisans, and small producers directly benefit from the presence of visitors. This year we will again have an arts, crafts, and second-hand goods fair with no participation fee, creating opportunities for those who live and work in the region.

Entry is free and every euro raised will be invested directly in the Festa do Futuro. We don't make money from the festival .

The Festa do Futuro is a festival that takes place in a small village in the interior of Portugal called Souto, located in the municipality of Abrantes.

This year marks our third edition.

For two days, we transformed the village into a space for meeting, culture, sharing, and creativity. All activities are free and open to everyone.

The Festa do Futuro is created by people from the village and the region who, since February, have been meeting weekly to imagine, plan and build this festival on a voluntary basis.

Budget and due dates

This value will be used for:

• €2,100 – rental of the sound and lighting system;
• €1,450 – musical program, including concerts by Mish Mish and Et Toi Michel, and performances by DJ Johnny Red and DJ Bunny.
• 1450€ - Printing of 290 t-shirts (5€ each t-shirt)
• PPL Commissions: €508.21*

* In other words, PPL charges us a commission. To receive the €5000 we need, we set a fundraising goal of €5509, as this extra €508.21 is to pay PPL's commissions.

At the moment we have only managed to secure support from FINABRANTES (Program to support community groups and associations in the municipality of Abrantes), which will allow us to carry out part of the program: 2 theater performances, an exhibition about the storms that ravaged the country, a pottery workshop, an artistic walk with the Guarda-Rios collective, a walk about legends and rituals related to water, a short film showcase, a water treasure hunt, a contemporary dance performance by local artist Marina Brunheta, and the creation of a collective mural on the theme of water.

But that's not enough! We need your help with the musical program that takes place from 7:00 PM onwards on both days!
