Dignity and Livelihood: Reform and Business for Families in Luanda

Urgent support for a family in Luanda: renovation of a precarious home, food, and the creation of a small business for a mother of two children with disabilities.

Urgent support for a family in Luanda: renovation of a precarious home, food, and the creation of a small business for a mother of two children with disabilities.

This campaign aims to help a family in my neighborhood in Luanda who live in extremely vulnerable conditions. Dona Cecília single-handedly cares for two children with physical disabilities and her sick mother in a house lacking basic amenities, with severe leaks and no furniture.

A year ago, I organized a charity drive to help them, but today their needs far exceed what I can do alone. The goal of this fundraising campaign is threefold:

  1. Renovation and Dignity: Repairing the roof and walls of the house and buying decent beds and mattresses for the children and grandmother.

  2. Food Security: Guarantee basic food baskets for the coming months.

  3. Financial Independence: Create a small business selling products door-to-door so that Dona Cecília can support her family in the future.

Any contribution, however small, will make a huge difference in the lives of these four people. I'm counting on your solidarity!

About the author

My name is Bruno Dias, I live in Luanda, Angola, and I decided to start this campaign after witnessing firsthand the extreme difficulties faced by Dona Cecília and her family. About a year ago, I carried out a one-off support action that was filmed, but I realized that help needs to be structured and long-lasting. I am committed to social causes in my community and I believe that, with the transparency of the WhatsApp group I created and the history on my Facebook page, everyone will be able to follow how every cent will be invested in the house renovation, food, and the future business of this family. My goal is to be the bridge between your generosity and the dignity of this mother and her children.

  • Starting Your Own Business (€750): Purchase of initial stock and equipment so that Dona Cecília can run a small business selling products from her doorstep, allowing her to have her own income and not depend solely on donations in the future.
