More than a trip, a mission: UniRaid Morocco

UniRaid made its mark on us 4 years ago and now were back: 3500 km of solidarity through the Moroccan desert, with the strongest 24k, ready to help those who need it most. In 2026, will experience it all again. Will you join us?

UniRaid is an international volunteer project that involves a journey through the Moroccan desert in a car over twenty years old, aiming to deliver aid to children, families, communities, and isolated villages along the entire route (over 3,500 kilometers covered in 9 days). UniRaid goes where few people reach, where help is most needed, where gratitude is immeasurable.

It's been about 4 years since our first UniRaid. Since then, that whole adventure, all the memories we created, and our desire to do more and better, are still present in our lives. From the day we left Morocco, we knew it wouldn't be the last time, it couldn't be… Because UniRaid is truly beautiful, truly unforgettable, and brings back immense nostalgia every time we talk about it. 4 years have passed! In less than a month, a new UniRaid begins!

Every year, we accompany so many young people on their journey and experience UniRaid as if we were still participants ourselves. This year will be different because we won't just be accompanying them, WE WILL EXPERIENCE UNIRAID AGAIN! And better than experiencing it as a pair is taking with us the people who accompanied us with so much affection and gave us strength on the first trip!

About the author

We are Catherine and Gonçalo, and unlike our first campaign, we are no longer university students, but we maintain the same dreams and ideals: "to leave the world better than we found it."

Currently, we work in our respective fields of study: Catherine is a Social Worker, working with the elderly, and continues with the same desire to improve the quality of life of those who need it most, with empathy, respect, and humanism. Gonçalo is a Forestry Engineer, and amidst the highs, lows, dangers, and beauties of the forest, he always finds a way to leave a mark on those he encounters.

We are no longer children, each of us has a different path, but we live and follow the same motto: "The best way to be happy is to contribute to the happiness of others" (Baden Powell). This is what scouting teaches us every day.

Going to UniRaid once wasn't enough for us. Because when an experience truly touches us, the desire isn't just to return—it's to return to do more, do better, and leave an even bigger mark.

Budget and due dates

This volunteer trip is expensive, not only in terms of registration but also travel insurance (for ourselves and the car), gasoline, food, and last-minute or unforeseen expenses. Therefore, any amount we can raise will be a great help in making this trip more comfortable.

UniRaid 2026 is fast approaching (October) and we created this new campaign so that those who can't reach us directly but intend to support us have a way to do so.
