"Mundo.ST" promotes the social inclusion of San Tomean on the so long called "Global Village". The project aims work in the promotion of employment and access to information through the qualification of the San Tomean people.

The "Mundo.ST" promotes the inclusion of San Tomean in the "Global Village". The project aims to work in the promotion of employment and access to information, enabling San Tomean aged over 15 years to develop skills in the area of information technologies in order to improve access to information and about the academic enrichment, bringing people and communities together.

We'll build a computer center with 20 computers in Neves' community (Lembá's district) in order to provide free access to information resources and provide training through workshop sessions and lectures. Workshop sessions will be used to address more practical issues on how to use basic tools, such as Word, Powerpoint or Excel and also about creating a website, an e-mail or a Skype account. The lectures will be held for 5 weeks on fridays with themes such as the advantages of using these technologies both academic and professionally, potentialities for business, the importance of maintaining a system of information and a good database. These session will be called "Digital Fridays". Additionally we'll train two people who will be responsible for the maintenance of the center and to disclose the subsequent online courses.

This project was developed in the course of social entrepreneurship, organized by NGO WACT - We are changing together.

About the author

We are two friends and colleagues currently working on ROFF, a Portuguese company in the field of Information Technology. We attend a Social Entrepreneurship course promoted by WACT - We Are Changing Together, since the end of 2015 where we started this project "Mundo.São Tomé".

João Breia is 32 years old, he was born in Montemor-o-Novo and went to Lisbon to study Economics at UNL, staying at Lisbon to work after finishing their course. During his career he had the opportunity to do projects in Mozambique and Angola, and from then awakened to the social area and its importance. Believes in the potential of the human being and that the African continent has a lot to develop, although empowered to do so.

João Neves was born in Lisbon in 1990. He lived in Parede until he completed the basic education in 1998. Was raised in a large family, where he's the oldest of six brothers. He moved to Carcavelos and completed his secondary education in the Salesians of Manique in 2007. He studied computer engineering at the Universidade Técnica de Lisboa in 2013 and began his career at ROFF, where he still works today. John is interested in personal and social development, cultural diversity and entrepreneurship. One of his passions is sports, having practiced professional football from 8 to 13 years, and continues to practice in a playful manner. His hobbies are surfing, tennis and skateboarding.
