We are Rosa Mimosa y Sus Mariposas the cumbia band that has gotten Portugal to dance. We want to record our first EP and we need your help to make this tropical dream come true!
"Rosa Mimosa y sus Mariposas" will be the name of our first EP, a tropical dream that arises from the mixture of different cultures through the taste of cumbia. The EP is an audible testimony of this long and magical journey of 4 years, compiling five original tracks. Inspired by the fusion of cumbia with other rhythms and sounds, "Rosa Mimosa y sus Mariposas" will be epic, the first album entirely dedicated to cumbia, recorded in Portugal.
As such, this campaign serves to cover all expenses associated with recording and mastering the EP, producing the video clip, printing discs and merchandise.
With the completion of this campaign, there will be an EP launch party that will feature a live concert by the band, with special guests and many other surprises.
It is precisely at this stage that you, cumbieros del corazon , are fundamental pieces to transform this dream into reality. About the author
Rosa Mimosa y sus Mariposas is the result of a cultural exchange between several musicians with different roots in Lisbon. The charm of Cumbia was the unifying element that started this trip in March 2016.
Angola, Argentina, Colombia, Italy, Spain, Uruguay and Portugal are the nationalities that make up this "cumbión", a formation that has 11 musicians and various instruments such as tenor and alto saxophone, clarinet, electric guitar, bass, accordion, keyboard, drums, congas, guiro and voices.
During this trip, we not only interpreted the great classics of Cumbia and their different influences, but we also absorbed the inspiring cultural and musical diversity of our city. And so we flooded our cumbia with other diverse genres such as Salsa, Afrobeat, Baião, Merengue, Dub, creating the fusion that represents our style.
In these four years of existence, we have toured several cities in the country, performing on dozens of stages and in some of the most prestigious festivals in the Portuguese music scene, such as BOOM FESTIVAL, Festa do Avante, Eco Terra Mãe Festival, Art Beer Fest Porto and Caminha , Intendente Fest, among others.
With the development of the project, the desire for affirmation arose naturally. So now the moment has come for Rosa Mimosa y sus Mariposas to record its first EP of original songs and create her own sound. But all of this is only possible with your support !!
