The pandemic turned us inside out and took the rug away ...
About a year ago, we moved from the tie knot to the hoe in our hand , and so, we joined hands, there is courage because the path is ahead.
The plans were different, buying a house and growing a family seemed attainable goals. A secure reality, financially stable and with prospects for a promising career.
We live in the hope that all these plans have just been postponed ...
For the most attentive, I speak in the plural, because despite being me, Afonso , the face and heart of Quinta da Charca , I am aware that together we always go further.

Where do we invest?
We invest everything we have achieved and everything we have now, all our time and dedication!
At this moment we are working on converting our farm to organic production and this is not where our environmental protection vein is located. We use techniques that preserve and increase the biodiversity of the soil and the environment, studying every day how to do better.
Our products have a delicious flavor but we want to reach another level, the taste of the Grandmothers, to that flavor the tradition that contradicts any other.
Although we don't use pesticides or other chemicals, we know that certification is important! It will bring more security, confidence, and comfort to our customers.
Financial investment has been continuous. Be it on fence posts, irrigation material, work materials, not forgetting that we always need certified and quality seeds, among others ... It is a constant expense, which for us has been one of the biggest signs of evolution, of that we are taking steps in the right direction.
As in any crop there are always surpluses , even products with a few touches that we put aside. We work with an Association that is in charge of distributing it to families that need help, so at Quinta nothing is wasted and everyone is happy!

Well ... and what do we need your help for anyway? Why do we need investment?
We need a slightly larger and more immediate investment than our savings allow.
We want you to come pick your vegetables and fruits, get to know us and see how everything we deliver grows!
We need to remodel our infrastructure to receive everyone who wants to visit us, from kids to adults.
We invest every day, especially in the well-being of those who enjoy everything we produce. Eating well is a huge step towards feeling healthy and more active, for a better life!
Opening our doors to those who want to support, teach and learn with us will bring more strength, will, joy, happiness to our daily lives ...
Together, without a doubt, we always go further!

An aviator who settled, well, his feet on Earth ... So it seems that it makes perfect sense!
After a lot of persistence, I got a seat as a flight attendant and that day came a few years ago. There is the idea that it is just walking around and getting to know new places. I have known places that I probably would not have known otherwise ... But, be disappointed, it is an extremely exhausting work on a personal, physical and emotional level. It's for those who like it!
I am not an Agronomist, much less an Engineer, I do training whenever possible, counting on thousands of hours between training courses, learning in the field and continuous study.
I want to change consumption habits, improve the lives of those around me and, who knows, change the vision of Agriculture, make it more sustainable and environmentally viable.
The best allies are undoubtedly the books, but nobody teaches like the 'old ones'. It is with them that one learns as it was in the past and in that they are absolutely right:
'My son, it used to be, with a hoe in hand, today it's just modernices'
Ask well! But who are the others?
The others are Mother, Father, Brother, Sister, Girlfriend and Friends. I do not think of them in this order, each one supports me unconditionally, the most present is the Girlfriend.
True, it is just the two of us who work from Sunday to Sunday, from sun to sun, so that everything is impeccable and the baskets arrive as they were requested, full of Love!
Our dedication is continuous, we have evolved little by little, Nature is in no hurry.
We take care of the garden, orders, marketing and social networks. We answer the phone and respond to messages and emails any day and any time, whoever supports us deserves all the attention and affection.

Passionate about airplanes but Nature has already turned it around. The countryside, the birds humming, the pure air you breathe!
Maria helps in all the processes, if something is out of perfect I already know that I will listen! Put everything in bed!
It is a friendliness and whenever you make a delivery, you arrive at the van with a sparkle in your eyes ...
Family and friends
An unconditional support that makes us feel strong, rain or shine, we are missing. They feed what we need most, the ability to fight and get back to revenge!
They have their lives but once in a while they will 'get their hands dirty' and lend a helping hand that is always welcome ...

Budget and due dates
Your help will be to plant between 150 to 200 trees, some with fruit and others for a small forest, where birds, insects and other animals will be able to shelter from the sun, rain and cold.
A small ecosystem that will bring more quality to all production and the surrounding environment.
In order to welcome visitors and even neighbors who want to collect products at our Quinta, we will need to have the necessary conditions of safety and hygiene.
It is important to know where the food we eat comes from, every day, for that we will get better!
The amount raised will be applied as follows:
- Restoration of warehouse, WC and other infrastructures - 2500 €
- Cover for machines, tools, irrigation equipment - 1700 €
- Fruit and Forest Trees - 1400 €
- Improvement of shelters for animals - 850 €
- PPL Commissions - 520 €
Approximate total budget - € 6970
Campaign value without PPL commission - € 5165.10
All the amount raised will be applied as soon as it is received. We count in 60 to 90 days to have everything ready!
