After their debut EP "Alvorada" ("Dawn"), Quase Nicolau are looking for your help to make their first full-length album!
This record is the culmination of four years of work and life as a band. Its twelve songs, eleven of which with lyrics and a first one without, were conceived from the beginning as parts of a whole with its own meaning and feeling. We tried to grow, to learn from the Alvorada (Dawn) experience: to make more direct and urgent songs, more danceable too, to always explore new timbres and structures, in short, to have fun and move us and those who listen to us!
However, a record is not made out of goodwill alone. For a long time, we have been disciplinedly saving all the band's income, from concerts, competitions and sales, to finance the production of our first album. The figure we arrived at covers a little over half the budget, which includes studio work, musician fees, mixing and mastering, but we realized months ago that in order to reach the total in the near future, desired by us and listeners who have been asking for new music, we could use some help. That's why we ask you, within each's possibilities. Thank you very much!

About the author
Quase Nicolau is a young band from Lisbon and Porto, made up of six friends brought together by the desire to write and sing songs in Portuguese and harmony. After a year and a half in the studio and some concerts, they released their first EP, “Alvorada” ("Dawn"), in January 2021. Recorded and mixed by the legendary José Moz Carrapa, it is made up of five songs with lively and varied choral and instrumental arrangements, in which there is room for guitars and keyboards of all shapes and sizes, kalimbas, strings, woodwinds, drums and bass, rivers, rain and wind. But above all stand the voices: Francisco, Gonçalo, Joana, Melo, Nuno and Zé join and take turns singing and weaving vocal harmonies that, sometimes with lyrics, sometimes without, try to reach what the word alone cannot.
The Nicolaus have an average age of 23.1667 years. In the studio, they like not to stick to just one instrument, allowing everyone to experiment and express whatever comes to their hearts and minds, but in concert they are:

Gonçalo Mota - backing vocals, electric guitar
Joana Domingues - vocals, keyboards, flute, percussion
José Lobo Antunes - vocals, 10-string Amarante guitar, acoustic guitar

Budget and due dates
Our band savings cover more than half of the album cost. They will be spent on all days of recording and on the remuneration of the producer responsible for the project.
However, to finish the record we still need funds for final production expenses, as well as for mixing and mastering the tracks. Below you will find the breakdown of the remaining budget:
€300 - Completion of production expenses
€1200 - Mixing and mastering of 12 tracks
€150 - PPL commission
We are already in pre-production and intend to enter the studio in June or early July. We want to have the album ready, with everything recorded, mixed and mastered by the end of the year, so that next year we can release singles, music videos and the album itself, either independently or through record labels with which we will be in contact.

Aproxima-se a data de lançamento de FELICIDADE MODERNA, a 11 de Abril, pelo que é chegado o momento de vos dar novidades acerca das prometidas recompensas.
1º escalão: Os nomes de todas e todos os contribuintes para esta campanha serão mencionados nas plataformas digitais em que tal é possível (Bandcamp, YouTube), bem como na edição física do disco, para a qual conseguimos fundos graças a um apoio da GDA;
2º escalão: Do segundo escalão para cima, todas e todos os contribuintes receberão uma hiperligação de onde poderão descarregar as faixas do disco em ficheiros de alta qualidade.
3º escalão: O behind-the-scenes já está, pouco a pouco, a ser montado, e tê-lo-emos pronto este ano.
4º escalão: Não tendo sido possível agendar uma sessão de escuta do disco antes do lançamento, pareceu-nos ainda melhor oferecer a cada contribuinte do quarto escalão para cima uma cópia da edição física do disco, possibilitada pelo apoio da GDA antes mencionado. Se tudo correr como se prevê, deveremos ter os discos até ao Verão.
5º escalão: Falaremos com o espaço do concerto de apresentação do disco, o Musicbox, em Lisboa, para tentar obter convites.
6º escalão: Integraremos as canções pedidas em alinhamentos de concertos deste Verão. Quando estivermos satisfeitos com os arranjos, gravaremos os vídeos.

Olá a toda a gente!
Passado quase um ano, queremos agradecer-vos profundamente pela ajuda, e dar-vos algumas novidades.
Acabámos de gravar o disco em Abril, sob a alçada do magnífico João Correia, produtor que nos ajudou a crescer muito enquanto banda e a experimentar inúmeras coisas novas. Estamos entusiasmados, e de que maneira, com as onze canções a que chegámos, mais directas, urgentes e dançantes do que as de antes, com espaço até para electrónica!
De momento, o disco está a ser misturado e masterizado por Tiago de Sousa. Já rodámos o primeiro teledisco e também já temos material para montar o pequeno documentário de "making of" prometido.
Datas precisas ainda não conseguimos dar, mas estamos a trabalhar para que tudo vos chegue tão belo e tão em breve quanto possível. Provavelmente, o disco inteiro só virá no fim do Inverno ou princípio da Primavera de 2025, mas até lá haverá três ou quatro singles.
