WePark - Don’t waste your time parking in Lisbon

WePark is a customized parking service that allows you to reserve an experienced driver, through a mobile application, to park your vehicle in urban centers.

How many times have you felt desperate while trying to park your car in Lisbon? And how many times were you late due to the time spent looking for a place to park your car? For those who travel to Lisbon frequently using their own cars, this is a reality. Actually, it is estimated that 30% of European city centers traffic is the one of cars looking for places to park, and that each driver spends around 20 minutes in trying to achieve it. It was aiming to solve this problem, that WePark came up.

What if someone could pick your car up, exactly where you intend to stay, and parked it for you? Imagine that you are planning to have dinner in Bairro Alto. Through the WePark App, you only have to schedule the service and when you reach the restaurant, one of our drivers will be there, ready to park your car in a private surveilled parking. Enclosed to the service, there will be an insurance to protect your car from possible problems.

The basic service price, which includes the picking up and returning of the car to its owner, is around 5€. The service doesn’t include the parking fees that will be around 1€ per hour. These prices are highly competitive when compared to the other options available like the public means of transportation, like taxis, or other apps of private urban transportation, like Uber. Going back to the given example (a dinner at Bairro Alto), let’s imagine you are at Saldanha. You are about 5km away and it will take you 15 minutes to get there. Having in mind that you want to go back to Saldanha when you finish your meal, probably you will spend around 20€ on a taxi or around 12€ using the Uber services. If you used the WePark, and including the gas spent, the base service price plus 3 parking hours, you would spend around 8,5€. It means you would save, at least, 3,5€. There are some other extra services available, like wash and fuel your car, for 2€ each, plus the price of the fuel and the washing service.

With this Project, we were the startup winner of the Brisa Mobilidade award in the Montepio Acredita Portugal 2017 contest and that’s why we already have the Brisa’s support to enter the market.

We have already defined our business plans and processes and we are starting developing the mobile App, as well as creating partnerships, which is paramount to our project.  We would like to highlight our partnership with one of the biggest company in the parking business. Apart from that, we are looking for people willing to invest, so that we can launch a pilot in the beginning of 2018. So, here’s where you can make a difference! WePark was created in order to fulfill a real and increasing need when it comes to park a car in a big city and its aim is to improve the driving experience in big urban centres, making it more comfortable for the driver and saving time.

The WePark team is moved by this cause. The team is formed by three young, full of strength and energy, women: Rita Narciso, Gabriela Pereira e Mafalda Oliveira. All three of them have a degree and a master in Biomedical Engineering.  Nevertheless, they have distinctive personalities, that complement each other, and they believe they are the best team to develop this project and make it grow.

Rita is a positive and dynamic person. She is always having new ideas, in which she believes with strong conviction. She is always eager to be part in some project and she gets involved in them easily. She is a dreamer, she is ambitious and demanding with herself. People tend to say that she is lucky, but above all, Rita is in love with life.

Gabriela is a talkative and fearless person. She has a free spirit but she keeps her feet on the ground. She is fond of a good challenge and commits herself to her objectives. She always tries to learn from others, she is faithful to her beliefs, she is determined and persuasive when it comes to defending or transmitting her ideas.

Mafalda is a lively and confident, with a particular sense of humour, person who likes people and spending quality time with his family and friends. She has a quite (self) critical, competitive and perfectionist spirit. She fights for what she wants, always leaving her mark in everything. She is organized and balanced.

Budget and due dates

The money raised with this campaign aims to:

• Develop the mobile app;
• Register the brand in the European Union;
• Branding and marketing campaigns;
• Buying electric scooters for our drivers’ mobility;
• Guarantee the insurance needed;
• Rewards given to investors;
• 5% comission to PPL (VAT included);
• 2% payment comission (VAT included).

When it comes to deadlines, we intend to launch a pilot in the beginning of 2018 and have the service available for customers in general in the second semester of 2018.
