The 474 Group from Tamel (S. Veríssimo), Barcelos of the Portuguese Scouts Corps intends to carry out a study visit to Brownsea Island (United Kingdom), which is considered the cradle of world scouting

From July 29 to August 9, 1907, twenty boys and Robert Baden-Powell participated in the first scout camp in history. The place was Brownsea Island, on the south coast of England.

To celebrate the event, the leaders of Group 474 from Tamel (S. Veríssimo), Barcelos of the Portuguese Scouts intend to take 21 explorers (boys and girls from 10 to 14 years old), members of this group, to experience this experience for four days (between April 28th and May 1st) in the same place where it all began.

€ 7,000 is required until 1 April 2018 to cover travel and accommodation expenses in London and Brownsea Island, as well as for some interesting visits. This money covers food expenses, bus, train and boat trips, as well as the rental of camping equipment.

The objective of this campaign is to raise 2,000 euros, to reach the 7,000 needed the grouping will contribute 1,000 euros and the parents of the Boy Scouts the remaining amount.

About the author

The promoters of this event are the Group Leaders and Section Chiefs of the Explorers Section of Group 474 from S. Veríssimo, of the Portuguese Scounts.

Having already had a great experience in the organization of national and international events, this event is one of the most challenging events ever organized.

Budget and due dates

€ 7,000 is required until 1 April 2018 to cover travel and accommodation expenses within London, Poole and Brownsea Island, and Chingford (Gilwell Park).

This money covers food expenses, bus, train and boat trips, as well as the rental of camping equipment. The remaining existing expenses will be borne by community members through fundraising and scout's parents.
