Songbook of Flowers

The Cancioneiro das Flores is a digital Book/Album with 22 songs performed by the 4 Novaterra choirs! A multifaceted book that brings together poetry, science, illustrations, activities, sheet music for piano initiation to songs and a special design!

Hi! We are the Messengers of Nature (children's choir) and the Kalindi (female youth choir)! On March 1, 2020, we launched our first CD Planeta Azul, Songs for Mother Earth ! In the summer of 2020 we went back to the studio and recorded our first Book/CD, Refúgio, A Arte de Protecting the Forest ! In 2021 we launched the Musical Book/Album Songbook of Animals and the Book/Musical Bestuary Album, Songs for Childhood ! Our next work is almost done, and now we need your help to finish it! This Music Book/Album is full of beauty and magic and is perhaps our favourite! There are 22 songs that are born from a very deep love for nature, and you can listen to the 7 singles already released here !

The first part of the Digital Book/Album "Cancioneiro das Flores" is pedagogically inspired and intends to make known the particularities of flowers and how inspiring they are for us humans!. It's wonderful to learn to sing! The poems are by Ana Maria Pinto , and the illustrations by the children who make up the choir Messengers of Nature! This part also includes very fun activities and music scores adapted to piano beginners!

The second part of the digital book/album is poetically inspired! Songs inspired by poems by António Oliveira and illustrated by the painter Helena Mancelos, as well as the scores!

This project also counts with the participation of the Makawee, Yarukma, percussionists João Russo and Márcio Pinto and with soloists from the Portuguese Guitars and Mandolins Orchestra!

About the author

Created and founded by Ana Maria Pinto , Novaterra, Associação Cultural Arte e Ambiente finds its inspiration in nature and education through art, building bridges between distant worlds, which, once in contact, strengthen each other. Free, joyful and genuine self-expression allied to the feeling of love for Planet Earth are the foundations of all her projects.

Considered as a vehicle for expansion and self-knowledge, singing is the main instrument of work. Novaterra comprises 4 choirs, which come together in concert, continuously combining singing and movement: the Yarukma (musical-theatre group), the Makawee (female choir), the Kalindi (female youth choir) and the Messengers of Nature (choir of children). The pieces and concepts of Novaterra's concerts are original and inspired by indigenous, African, poetic, meditative and scientific ideas.

Novaterra launches in 2020 two records, "Planeta Azul, Songs for Mother Earth" and the Book/CD "Refuge, The art of protecting the Forest". In 2021, the Books/Musical Albums "Bestuário, Canções para a Infância" and "Cancioneiro dos Animais" were released.

Throughout the year, major thematic concerts are organized, crossing the arts with scientific knowledge and the environment, cycles of workshops, courses, lectures, as well as the Hearth Festival - The Art that links the Heart to the Earth in partnership with the Municipality of Gondomar. Novaterra is also developing the great project Classic meets Africa, which fuses African dances with classical music.
