Braga Cyclable intends to acquire 5 air quality measuring instruments, to raise awareness of the need to adopt measures in the city to reduce pollution.
Braga Cyclable intends to acquire 5 low-cost air quality measuring instruments, the size of the palm of your hand, which measure hyperlocal concentrations of harmful microscopic particles in the air, known as particulate matter, as well as humidity and temperature.
These 5 instruments will be distributed by members of the Association who cycle in Braga.
The instruments continuously measure and all data is available on an Open Data map.
In this way, we will equip the community with tools to defend equity and improve the quality of life, based on real data.

About the author
Associação Braga Cyclable represents citizens who use or wish to start using bicycles in the city of Braga. We promote the daily use of the bicycle as a means of transport and we intend to contribute to the improvement of safety and comfort conditions, with a view to expanding this use and making Braga a city where it is safer and more pleasant to live.
The Association emerges as a natural evolution of a citizenship movement that became more visible in 2012 with the foundation of the blog Braga Ciclável, but to which many other public manifestations of Braga's will to better welcome the use of bicycles were not unconnected. Among these, the periodic holding of events such as the Meetings with Pedal and the Critical Mass stand out, as well as the preparation and presentation of the Proposal for Sustainable Mobility.
We believe that the bicycle is a more economical, healthier, more ecological, more fun and often (especially in the city) much faster mode of transport than the car. In Braga, we have a city with exceptionally favorable geographical and climatic conditions for the use of bicycles as a means of transport, but despite this, the commitment of local authorities has been lacking in promoting urban cycling and in improving circulation and parking conditions for bicycles.
With the formation of the Association, it is intended to encourage the daily use of the bicycle and to facilitate to all citizens the rediscovery of the pleasure and the diverse individual, social, economic and environmental benefits of this same use. The Association will also actively participate with political decision-makers, in order to demonstrate the need to create new infrastructures and improve existing ones, thus giving voice to people who use this mode of transport in the city on a daily basis.

If we get the dedicated page in a graceful way, and the publication of the results as well, we will be able to acquire two more pieces of equipment.
