Personalized online content

Resources and support for different contexts is what we have been doing for about 10 years. With the pandemic, the doors have closed but we continue to customize school and academic support and the design of activities for any age and school year, online.

How do we start?

Espaço Crescer was born in 2012 in Arada, in the municipality of Ovar. We started with group study support, individual tutoring and school vacation activities (free time occupation). We quickly extended our services to non-certified and certified training (using certified partners).

The good performance of students and graduates went beyond the borders of the municipalities of Ovar and Santa Maria da Feira and in 2017 we started putting online the resources and training we were providing to the most distant students. We have gone from personalized face-to-face support to also offering personalized online support available free of charge (second use) online.

We invested in the placement of tutorial videos on youtube , the availability of PDF documents on slideshare , a new website and facebook page design and other digital marketing details.

What changed us?

When, in 2020, the confinement forced us to transfer all support to an exclusively online regime , the workload and availability of content increased exponentially, as we have proven proof of good work, the number of requests for personalized answers also increased.

What have we reinvented and for whom?

Thus, since April 2020, when we decided to close the store in Arada, we have been investing in the restructuring of all online content to provide a better service, especially for those who continue to have difficulty moving to places where they can receive this type of support and difficulty in paying individual explanations.

We have reinvented the form of presentation exclusively online to anywhere in the country and to other countries as well, such as Brazil and African countries. What we intend to continue to do is to provide tailor-made content to students from pre-school to university students, in all subjects, with the collaboration of several freelance professionals and with more effective and easily accessible online support.

What is the impact of our supporters?

Those who support us in the continuity of this project, support the work of several self-employed workers who continue to try to perform their functions for which they are called, in the best possible way, ensuring the quality and professionalism that those who seek us and believe in us deserve .

It also makes access to personalized content possible for students who otherwise would not get this specialized support.

About the author

Helo! I'm Sónia Abrantes , promoter of this campaign.

I was born in Lisbon but I am a descendant of three different countries: Portugal, Angola and Spain. I grew up in an environment of mutual help and a sense of community at the surface.

In childhood I played as a teacher for all my dolls and dolls and sometimes for my neighbors too. I soon realized that I would become a teacher but my mind was not convinced with a simple classroom.

At the age of 15 I was, for the first time, a summer camp animator and, since then, the work in group dynamics and personalized support has never stopped. In 2000 I entered the first degree, Teacher of Mathematics and Natural Sciences in Basic Education, and also in the Portuguese Army. As a student worker, I was a military instructor and a trainee teacher for two academic years. In those same years I became the leader of the National Scouts Corps, having been a scout since I was 8 years old. By expanding my area of action to an adult audience, I continued my studies for a second degree, and also graduated as a Higher Education and Training Technician, minor in Social Pedagogy.

I taught in Lichinga (Mozambique), on a humanitarian mission, later establishing roots in Ovar with the opening of a Study Center, Espaço Crescer. As the area of education cannot be seen only as a business , as an independent freelancer and volunteer, I have collaborated on several projects and given classes and training in several schools and institutions.

These more than 20 years of experience in finding the best solution for students and trainees in various educational and training contexts, led me to create a vast network of highly qualified professionals, who are also passionate about sharing knowledge.

At this time, we support all subjects and academic years, and we also develop training in context in all areas.

I'm at the service of the community, because it's where I grew up and it's where I intend to continue to grow, in an environment of sharing learning and experiences.

Budget and due dates

By September we intend to have the site ready to make all content more accessible to those who browse the Internet and are looking for online help.

For the design and maintenance of the site, as well as for the acquisition of software and licenses that give access to new features, around 2000€ are needed.

We are committed to improving the quality of video tutorials by investing in new tools.

Our goal is to start the next academic year 2021/2022 with everything ready to provide a better service.
