The Parish Council of São João Baptista and Santa Maria dos Olivais, in Tomar, has been promoting the solidarity campaign Together for Ours since 2015. Also embrace this campaign!
This is an educational, community and social project, which aims to raise donations for five institutions in our parish that throughout the year develop fundamental work for our community: ACRESCER, APAT, Cáritas de Tomar, CIRE and Cruz Vermelha, Centro Humanitarian Abrantes | Tomar.
We joined this cause, which we consider to be enough to justify this campaign, plus some challenges and, in this sense, we have involved dozens of entities every year that make their enormous contribution to this initiative.
Combining citizenship with creativity, environmental literacy and example pedagogy. For this reason, we could not fail to have as our greatest partners, the students of daycare centers, kindergartens and elementary schools. But we do not discriminate against anyone, also the "young people" in our homes have gone out of their way to raise the quality of this initiative.
This campaign involves dozens of entities and hundreds of people every year, schools, homes, restaurants, hotels, ready-to-wear, hairdressers, among others, and all with a common purpose, embracing this cause and contributing to those who do good your day-to-day.
We appeal to citizenship, to the importance of looking at those around us and the world, hence the environmental cause is also always present.
Every year we strive to innovate, involve more people and take our campaign further. It's because? Because we know that each of these entities makes a difference in our community. Because each of them contributes to the well-being of our customers, it promotes equal rights to a dignified life, with the same health, education and social opportunities.

Because we want them to continue to provide a quality response to their users, to be able to reach more and more people in their initiatives and never to give up doing the much needed good, because we know that financially is not easy and motivation is not always enough .
With this campaign we want to help financially but also show our support and pride for the dedication with which they offer us every day.

About the author
The Parish of São João Baptista and Santa Maria dos Olivais, from Tomar, arose from the union of the parishes of São João Baptista and Santa Maria dos Olivais, by virtue of the Administrative Reform of the Territory of the Parishes.
Being the second largest urban parish in the District, and the only one in the city of Tomar, it is now known not only for its rich heritage, but also for its tourist potential.
Betting not only on the area of intervention and works, in order to improve the conditions of all customers, it has also engaged in the cultural, educational and social area because it believes that the best bet for the future is to create the perfect conditions today so that our community is able to advance with quality, confidence and with the right tools to face the challenges of day-to-day.
With a population of approximately 22,000 inhabitants, there are many difficulties that arise and which, with the help of various partners, have tried to give the best answer and as quickly as possible.

The official opening of the Juntos pelo Nosso campaign will take place on December 2, with the opening of the Solidarity Tree, the JToghether for ours script and the Plastic Lids four ours campaign.
The campaign will run from December 2, 2020 to January 12, 2021.
From the 2nd of January to the 4th of January, it will be possible to carry out the Together for Ours Tour and visit the decorations made by the participants and leave a contribution in the respective donation box.
It will also be possible to visit the Solidarity Tree , which is made up of small Christmas decorations made by different participants and partners, with recyclable materials. Each decoration is available for exchange for a minimum donation of € 1.
It will also be possible to deposit caps in the Plastic lids four ours containers, located in different areas of the city. The lids will later be converted into cash or material goods that will revert to the beneficiary institutions of this campaign.
From January 4 to 9, 2021, the decorations will be on display for those who want to visit them.
On January 9, the decorations auction will take place, half of which will revert to the campaign and the other half will be distributed by the ATLs of our parish.
January 12th is the day of the campaign's Closing , in which each check will be delivered to the institution with the raised donation and thanks will be made to all those who have embraced this cause and contributed to its success.
