Crias de Leite - 30 true breastfeeding stories

Crias de Leite are true stories captured on video about the benefits and challenges of breastfeeding. Main purpose: to promote and to give visibility to breastfeeding through testimonies of those who breastfed or wanted to do so but, for various reasons, could not.

Crias de Leite is a project to give visibility to breastfeeding. It consists of a series of videos of true stories, told in the first person, about the benefits and challenges of breastfeeding.

The Crias de Leite series has already released 11 episodes. The goal is to release another 19 episodes, for a total of 30.

If, like me, you would like to support mothers who are breastfeeding or intend to breastfeed, support this project. The donations collected are intended to cover expenses associated with the production of these contents and constitute a positive reinforcement to my work.

My name is Andrea Guerreiro. I am affectionately nicknamed Racxa or Mother Wolf . I am a woman (she/her) and a mother and I dedicate part of my time sharing reflections on pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, parenting and conjugality on the Instagram page @mae_loba_ .

I have a degree in law. Between 2012 and 2017 I practiced law in the areas of criminal law and family and children's law. With the birth of my eldest daughter, I decided to stop working full time to keep up with her growth. At a time when teleworking had not yet been normalized by the pandemic, I worked as a legal transcriber and web content manager. A few months later, I became a trainer in the professional course for legal services technicians at the Institute for Social Development.

After the birth of my second child, I started a training path to support other women in their experience of preconception, pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum and, in particular, breastfeeding . I am a postpartum doula formed by the Portuguese Network of Doulas. Birthing Doula by Paramana Doulas. I started my training in breastfeeding with Cristina Pincho, in her course " Breastfeeding the most important". I am on a medium/long term journey to become IBCLC.

In 2021, I co-founded, in partnership with the lawyer Vânia Simões, the legal training project "Jusnascimento", with the aim of training for the rights of pregnant women, parturients and postpartum women and combating Obstetric Violence. I am an effective member of the Portuguese Association for the Rights of Women in Pregnancy and Childbirth (APDMGP). I am an activist for childbirth, breastfeeding and care centered on women.

Budget and due dates

11 episodes have already been released. The objective of this campaign is to raise funds that will allow the launching of 19 more episodes, for a total of 30.

The episodes are recorded and edited by me. I go to people's homes to capture testimonies. The two main costs are those related to travel (diesel, tolls and car wear and tear) and the time spent traveling, capturing and editing content (time that I'm not dedicating to other activities that support my family).

Between recording and editing, each episode involves the allocation of (at least) 8 hours of work. As this is a voluntary project, for each hour of work I will assign a symbolic value of €4 euros.

€4 x 8 hours = €32 x 30 episodes = €960 as compensation for 240 hours of recording and editing Crias de Leite episodes.

The average journey home is 50km round trip.

€50 x 0.36 = €18 x 30 episodes = €540 as compensation for 1500 km traveled for the recording of Crias de Leite episodes.

The initial cost of the project was €65 euros and included the purchase of a microphone, musical jingle and directing consultancy.

Conclusion, the estimated cost of the project for 30 episodes is €1,565.

Through the "buy me a coffee" platform and direct transfers by MBway I raised €131.42 (I'll consider this amount in full, although it wasn't all for the Crias de Leite, but for the content of my instagram page @mae_loba_ in a general way).

Through the project "Stay between Us" I raised €109.50.

Therefore, from the €1,565 required, I can deduct €131.42 and €109.50, making a total of €1324.08.

Considering the commissions charged by this platform, I need to raise €1460 so that the net amount to be received is €1325.
