Comerciantes.pt is a non-profit online storefront for traditional merchants and their products.
Comerciantes.pt was created during the mandatory confinement period to connect traditional traders and their communities.
In addition to responding to the immediate needs of the population in confinement and merchants in difficulty, we believe that an alternative to large supermarket chains is necessary for a more sustainable consumption.
This vision attracted dozens of volunteers who helped create Comerciantes.pt - a fully functional prototype of the marketplace, with the stories of more than 20 merchants and more than 300 products , gathered in a single shopping cart and in a single delivery.
From the beginning we looked for investors or partners who believed in the project and helped to create conditions so that a small team could dedicate themselves to the project full time, taking the marketplace to the whole city of Lisbon and then to the whole country.
Although we received an avalanche of messages of support and aroused the interest of the media ( Sic and Público ), public institutions and various players in logistics and retail, so far we have not been able to obtain the necessary investment.
We made the decision to suspend online sales at Comerciantes.pt as of July 20, and to focus all efforts on finding partners and investors.
We created the crowdfunding campaign to help support the software and hosting costs associated with Comerciantes.pt and keep the project online as long as possible.
Contribute to this campaign so that we can keep Comerciantes.pt online, as a platform to promote the stories and products of traditional traders.
