Sueño

"Sueño" is an original creation on the theme of sleep and dream in which these two concepts intersect, plunging into the unlimited, and often bizarre, dream world.

Susana Alves Costa, creator and performer of the show Sueño, graduated in Theater Studies from the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon, concluded the Professional Cirque Course at the Carampa Circus School in Madrid in 2011. Since 1996 she has been training in Portugal and Spain in the subjects of Theater, Aerial Acrobatics, Solo Acrobatics, Contemporary Dance, Classical Ballet, Music, Clown and Improvisation. She is co-founder of
Theater Company-Bad Cat Circus, where he creates and participates in Theater-Circus shows.

Helder Duarte, performer of the Sueño show, is from Durban, South Africa. Recently trained by the CAU - Urban Arts Center - Escuela Internacional de Circo de Granada (2016), this artist developed his technique in aerial acrobatics, rope and aerial belts. He collaborates regularly with Companhia da Esquina in the physical theater show on Abarca tour, and also with the Aér (i) Warehouse in animations and new circus shows.

Sueño is an original creation on the theme of sleep and dream in which these two concepts intersect, plunging into the unlimited, and often bizarre, dream world. We pretend to blur reality and embrace the absurd as part of an inner dimension that the human being can not control. Deep sleep, unfulfilled desire, need to sleep, bizarre dream, sleepless sleep, dream of a life. Dreams and dreams, reality and fantasy always intermittent. We intend to research different dance techniques and new circus in order to explore, in as varied ways as possible, the human dimension in its most intimate and individual aspect of sleep and dream. Referring to references such as fairy tales and collective memories of childhood, we seek an approach that will live up to this universe so inconstant [sleep and dream] and, to this end, to match performative forms of art that complement and complement each other, just as dreams defy reality.

The purpose of this crowdfounding campaign is to support the payment of copyright, artistic direction, choreography, rehearsal, light design, set design, graphic design and promotional materials and campaigns, as well as, age rating of the show, licenses of representation.

Buzico! Produções Artísticas has been in existence since 2011, it is a structure of human and logistic means that conceives, produces and releases cultural spectacles. Since its foundation, a Buzico! He has produced and co-produced 18 shows, among which are: Hamlet da Silva, by Miguel Morrillo, with staging by Eduardo Condorcet and performances by Alexandra Saragento, Augusto Portela, Catarina Matos and Marco Costa; Broadway Baby - A História do Musical Americano, by and with Henry Feist; Quatro Metades, based on 4 short stories by Mia Couto, with staging by Renato Godinho and interpretation by Iolanda Laranjeiro; A Cantora Careca, by Eugene Ionesco, a collective collection, with interpretations by Alexandra Sargento, Andresa Soares, Fernando Rodrigues, João Cabral, João Gualdino and Sofia Brito; A Noite do Choro Pequeno, Authorship and Staging of João Elevador and interpretations of Alexandra Sargento and Sofia Nicholson; Variações, de António, Authorship and Staging by Vicente Alves do Ó interpretation by Sérgio Praia; A Passagem das Horas, by Fernando Pessoa | Álvaro de Campos, with staging and interpretation by Nelson Cabral; and more recently, A Mãe da Noiva, by Ana Saragoça, staging by João Ascenso and interpretation by Ana Saragoça.

Co-producer of the project, Associação Cultural Gato Ruim, created in 2012 under the artistic direction of Susana Alves Costa, has the mission of promoting artistic and cultural, through the creation and production of shows and also the formation of children and adults in the performative arts area, with emphasis on the New Circus, an artistic expression still underdeveloped and disseminated in Portugal. The collective promotes in this scope the training of young people and adults and produces shows that promote regular exhibitions; still actively participates in festivals and theater forums.

Budget and due dates

We have used the PPL and a crowdfunding campaign for two reasons: first, because contributions can be from € 1.00, anonymously or not; second, because Buzico! Artistic Productions is not a structure with financial support from the state or private and as we have as motto: to give stage to their passions, artists, we do not want to defraud the expectations of those who entrust us their projects.

If we can achieve our goal of € 1,800.00, this value will be used to support the payment of the following items: copyright, artistic direction, choreography, show trials, light design, set design, graphic design and promotional materials and campaigns (leaflets, posters - MUPIs, A3 - and room sheet), age rating of the show, representation licenses and promotion campaigns (social networks and social media).
