Shappy, a team of students from Aveiro University that will partially cross the Moroccan desert, in order to distribute didactic material in schools located among the desert.
UniRaid is a Human, Formative and Solidarity adventure, to be held from February 24 to March 4, 2018, is already on its 7th edition. Teams of 2 college students, aged 18-28, will go through 7 stages already defined for 9 days through Morocco using only a traditional road map and a compass, no GPS.
Our team is entitled Shappy, which means Sharing + Happiness.
The main purpose of the project is to deliver at least 30 kg of teaching and solidary materials to schools and the needy children we pass through in order to improve the life quality of the largest number of children and to help develop their skills. Yes, children, because they will be the Men and Women of tomorrow that will make all the difference!
To achieve the initiative, to each team is imposed to use a car over 20 years old, which can not have 4x4 or more than 1300cc, which makes the ride more challenging and exciting. This campaign is the call to help us grow Smiles all the way, because in the context of difficulty, a smile makes a difference.
Towards the difficulties there is only one certainty: that each one of us is able to leave the world a little better place and help putting a smile on the face of a child that would loved to have a notebook and a pencil to draw. That is the motivation. That's what makes us want to get there.
We are aware of the humanitarian importance of this participation, since the lives of those who need it will be improved with our visit and the donations we will fulfil.
