Banco do Medicamento - Health to everyone in Vila Nova de Foz Côa

Medicine Bank is an initiative by Associação Cuidar Solidário aimed at supporting the acquisition of medicine by retirees and pensioners over 65 years, in aggravated economic conditions. The donated funds are intended to support 300 patients to buy their prescribed medicines during two months.

This campaign seeks the community's help for anonymous donations, in order to finance the support to be provided to the patients of Medicine Bank living  in Vila Nova de Foz Côa.

Having started a pilot that will run until 31 October 2016, this campaign aims at supporting 300 elderly users for two months, by gathering the necessary funds as to reduce these patients economic burden to only 10 % of the drug price when purchased at the pharmacy.

Associação Cuidar Solidário was founded in 2015 by a group of citizens who share a strong social concern and intent to take advantage of their knowledge and experience within the health sector to serve social causes like the Banco do Medicamento (Medicine Bank.

Since its founding, Associação Cuidar Solidário has assumed as its mission the creation of a social platform that ensures the senior citizens with proven severe economic hardship, easy access to their prescribed medicine.

Budget and due dates

Providing the necessary support to 300 patients throughout two months, with an average cost per patient of 10.88€.

This campaign is immediate and will run until the 19th of August 2016.
