The "Eco Chamber" makes us think about the reality that surrounds us. Is it her who we serve or is it from us that she gets served?
"These things that we see around, they only happen in the digital world that is far away from us. This is a place perfectly defined on space. So, these questions are encapsulated to that territory, nourishing only the natives of that place. Any resemblance you detect to reality is pure coincidence... Are you a digital dependent?" This is the synopsis of the new adult's play brought to you by Zunzum called "Echo Chamber ", written after a doctoral thesis about the effects of personalization algorithmic on the Web. We question the reality that surrounds us. Is it her who we serve or is it from us that she gets served?
The topic of a Doctoral Thesis called "Emotions and Recommender Systems: A Social Network Approach" called our attention. We live less and less free, more in social bubbles and preferences sharing. So, we wanted to accept the challenge to share this message through the scenic arts. We looked for a playwright with professional experience in the communication field, and we found the geniality of Mr. Fernando Giestas. Right away, we looked for the irreverent mastery of Mr. Fraga for design and stage. After two months and a lot of interactions between the author of the thesis and Mr. Giestas, the moment to read the first version of the dramatic text arrived. Mr. Fraga thought we were all crazy. He grumbled, then laughed and became intrigued, and he never stopped thinking on how to put that frenetic and hilarious text on stage. Three more versions from Mr. Giestas were made, and some others from Mr. Fraga. At the same time, we delivered our first casting of actors led by Zunzum – thanks to everyone that wanted to work with us! From the 15 persons selected for casting, Mr. Fraga chose his team of 7 actors. There were a few months of hard work with rehearsals, production and financial projects. And here we are. The result of this hard work is about to be featured. We have some dates: Viriato Theatre, 29 and 30 of December, at Viseu, Estaleiro Teatral, 9 and 10 of January, 2016, at Aveiro, and Acert, 16 of January 2016, at Tondela.
To launch a project like this is as challenging as rewarding, most because of the work it generates. But also, thanks to that, it is onerous. And after the normal financial gymnastic of these cultural journeys, and of the additional costs from stage, multimedia and production support, we came to the conclusion that we need to share this heart pinch with our audience and friends. That's why we decided to launch our first Crowdfunding Campaign. Come with us on stage and help us realize with success the "Echo Chamber".

Doadores: Bem-haja, bem beirão e aquiliniano, da equipa Zunzum!
Querido amigo(a), estás a receber esta mensagem porque foste um doador do crowdfunding Câmara de Eco, pelo que contribuíste para tornares possível este empreendimento cultural.
É pouco fácil movermo-nos da rotina habitual, de agirmos para entregar dinheiro, de fazermos procedermos por outros, mesmo se acreditamos que dada ação deva ser feita. Não é fácil darmo-nos ao trabalho de fazer uma doação que primeiro nos obriga a vários passos, desde a leitura do motivo até o concretizarmos no multibanco ou online no homebanking. Tu fizeste-o e todos os Zuns te estão imensamente gratos. Sim, contribuíste para a cultura, mas em particular, apoiaste um grupo de 10 pessoas a levar por diante um projeto teatral.
Foste agente para a concretização de trabalho no domínio das artes para pelo menos um ano. Sim, a peça ainda tem de se vender umas 20 vezes para ficar paga e a Zunzum ainda tem de encontrar mais apoios para “folgar as costas” e melhorar elementos da produção da peça, mas para já contigo vencemos uma etapa.
Sim, não temos palavras para te agradecer. A campanha terminou e as ante estreia e estreia da peça foram realizadas com sucesso e de seguida segue-se o espetáculo no Teatro Acerte em Tondela no sábado 16 janeiro. Os dois espetáculos de Aveiro tiveram de ser reagendados (ainda sem data fechada) por motivos alheios à Zunzum. O resto virá depois, com o trabalho de todos.
