KCAP 2027

One last dance together, one last fanchant at the top of our lungs - KCAP 2027!

One last dance together, one last fanchant at the top of our lungs - KCAP 2027!

In 2027, we will celebrate the 10th edition of the K-Pop Covers Awards Portugal (KCAP), an event dedicated to the talent, creativity, and passion of the Portuguese K-pop community. Over the course of a decade, KCAP has become a national benchmark for artists and fans, providing a stage where singers and dancers can showcase their work, grow as performers, and share their passion with hundreds of people.

This edition will have special significance as it marks the 10th anniversary of the project. The event is scheduled for March 6, 2027, at the Braga Youth Center, and represents a unique opportunity to bring together a diverse and active community, promoting cultural exchange, youth participation, and the appreciation of performing arts inspired by South Korean culture.

However, growing this project has become increasingly difficult. Since 2025, in our search for venues with the capacity to accommodate all participants and spectators, we have faced ever-increasing costs and bureaucratic requirements that far exceed the revenue our events generate. Finding suitable locations is no longer just a matter of availability; it now also depends on financial resources that an independent, non-profit association cannot always guarantee.

The consequences of this reality were felt in 2026. Despite all the team's efforts, it was not possible to secure a space in time to hold KCAP in person, forcing us to adapt the edition to a free online format. This decision allowed us to keep the event alive, but it also meant the absence of any financial return capable of sustaining its continuity. As a result, we arrived at the 2027 edition with very limited resources, but with the same desire to provide a memorable event.

Performance de Dança

Although all the work of the organization is done on a voluntary basis, there are unavoidable expenses: licenses, insurance, digital platforms, equipment, fees, security, venue costs, and various other essential charges to ensure a safe and high-quality event. That is why today we are reaching out for your help. We created this campaign so that everyone who has followed KCAP over the years, whether through participation, attendance in the audience, sharing on social media, or simply a "like," can be part of this important chapter in our history.

Your contribution doesn't just fund an event. It helps preserve a space for meeting, friendship, artistic growth, and cultural sharing that has touched thousands of people over the last decade. If KCAP has already made you smile, dance, sing, meet friends, or create unforgettable memories, we ask that you help us celebrate these 10 years in the best way possible.

Let's dance together once more. Let's make KCAP 2027 happen.

About the author

K-Pop Covers Portugal (KCP) is an association dedicated to promoting, disseminating, and fostering K-pop culture in Portugal, creating opportunities for fans, artists, and communities to meet, share experiences, and develop their talents in a safe and inclusive environment.

The project was born in 2015 from the initiative of three K-pop fans who created a simple Facebook group with the aim of bringing the Portuguese community closer together. Over the years, this small initiative has transformed into one of the largest and most recognized K-pop communities in the country, with a strong presence on social media and the organization of several events that have marked generations of fans.

Among their projects, highlights include the K-Pop Covers Awards Portugal (KCAP) , the main national competition for K-pop covers, and other initiatives that seek to encourage artistic expression, interaction between fans, and cultural exchange through music, dance, and performance.

KCP believes in an open, inclusive, and diverse community. We uphold respect for all people, regardless of their ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or social status. We reject any form of discrimination, racism, homophobia, or violence, promoting values of mutual respect, empathy, and cooperation.

We also remain committed to continuous learning and evolution, listening to different perspectives and welcoming constructive criticism that allows us to build an increasingly representative, accessible, and welcoming community for all.

For over a decade, our goal has remained the same: to create spaces where the passion for K-pop unites people, inspires talent, and generates memories that last a lifetime.
