Animals at Madeira Sanctuary are about to become homeless.

The animals rescued by the non-profit organization Madeira Sanctuary in the Autonomous Region of Madeira are on the verge of becoming homeless because the owner needs the house where they are currently located, requiring help to set up the essentials on donated land.

The institution operates throughout the RAM (Madeira Autonomous Region) and has rescued many animals, who are now happily in their new homes. We have been trying to find a suitable space for them for a long time without success, and now is the time for them to have a roof over their heads and peace!! We have already been given approximately 700 square meters of land, and we need to set everything up within 15 days to welcome them safely and peacefully. The construction of walls, gates, flooring, containers, etc., is essential, and we need help. Let's all lend a hand to the cats and dogs so they don't end up in kennels, continuing in the family environment they've always had since arriving here. Thank you for your collaboration!

I, Élia Maria de Jesus Gomes, president of the institution, fight alongside all our members for a better world for people and street animals. The animal defense association -mas-madeira sanctuary was a group of friends dedicated to animal welfare for years, developing this care for all living beings, and was established as a non-profit organization in 2019. Throughout this journey, we have witnessed our furry friends saving human lives, which is truly touching because they understand that something is wrong with a person and insist that someone save them. It is worth highlighting that in our talks at schools, we manage to instill respect for animals and inform them of the current law, conveying that, just like us humans, they have the right to life.

Today, I pray for them, as they truly deserve to remain in a loving home because we operate in a family-style shelter where they are always accompanied by a volunteer and in a cozy space with beds, sofas, and a garden for relaxing in the sun.

Budget and due dates

The budget totals 40,000 euros, including land clearing, walls, gate, flooring, fencing, and containers that will be transformed into a large room with sofas and a TV because they have long been accustomed to watching the panda or listening to Mezzo, remaining quiet and resting after their playtime.
