Raising funds to edit and publish the book "The Dinosaur Who Learned to Be Happy," created by the children of the Vale do Côvo Kindergarten, Alpendorada School Group, valuing their authorship, creativity, and thought within the educational community.

It all began at the Vale do Côvo Kindergarten, when the children decided to create a story about a dinosaur who wanted to learn how to be happy. Through conversations, drawings, and discoveries, a book was born that speaks about the value of friendship and, at the same time, teaches how to protect ourselves in case of an earthquake, always using the simple, sensitive, and truthful language of children.

Each page was imagined, written, and illustrated by them. Each idea was born from their questions, their experiences, and the way they observe the world. This book is more than a story: it is a testament to the creativity, intelligence, and voice of children.

Now, we want to take this dream further. We want to transform their work into a real, printed book that can be read at home, at school, and in the community. For that, we need your help.

By supporting this campaign, you are giving children a voice, valuing their authorship, and allowing their thoughts to circulate in the world. Help us publish this book, made by children, for the world.”

About the author

The project is promoted by educator Marisa Teixeira, winner of the Global Teacher Prize Portugal 2026, and educator Isabel Soares, whose pedagogical practices focus on children's participation , action research , and valuing children's authorship. The work developed integrates scientific literacy, exploration of the territory, and citizenship education, promoting learning environments where children think, create, and communicate their ideas with autonomy and meaning. This approach articulates science, ethics, and pedagogical sensitivity, recognizing children as subjects of rights and producers of knowledge. Through projects involving the community, territory, and civil protection, the educators build educational experiences that strengthen children's self-esteem, curiosity, and critical thinking skills, contributing to a more participatory, safe, and humanized public school.
