From Paper to the Sea: Help Our Young Artists Soar Higher

Fifty works were submitted for online voting. Some of the participating students come from disadvantaged family backgrounds, and we aim to raise support through the sale of the book The World of Aviation , whose pages inspired these young artists.

The Problem: The Barrier Between Dream and Reality

Imagine hundreds of young people who have been given a promise: a technical drawing, colorless and soulless, accompanied by the challenge of bringing it to life.

These young artists accepted the challenge of the Coloring the Sky initiative. They transformed simple lines into epic narratives of heroic missions or into pink dreams that dance with the stars.

Following a public vote, ten of these young people were crowned winners.

The problem? The prize is an unforgettable trip along the Algarve coast. However, for many of these students, the costs of travel and accommodation represent an insurmountable barrier.

They achieved great success on paper, but a lack of resources is preventing them from reaching the ocean in real life.

Why it Matters: Art as Rescue

This wasn't just a coloring activity. It was a true journey of mindfulness and self-discovery.

Through the pages of the book The World of Aviation – Air Museum , these young people found inner peace, concentration, and a way to express their deepest emotions.

Each color chosen was a decision that built a story of determination, creativity, and beauty.

To let these students lose the prize due to financial difficulties would be to tell them that their imagination has limits, when their drawings have proven exactly the opposite.

The Solution: A Support Chain

The solution has already begun to take shape through the union of teachers, students, and families, who have decided to raise financial support for students facing the greatest difficulties.

We are the caretakers of this mission.

Our strategy is based on three pillars:

Solidarity Fund

Direct donations to cover transportation and accommodation costs.

Support through Culture

Sale of the book that inspired the project, allowing art to fund a real experience.

Community Mobilization

Share this story so that the message reaches those who can help.

The Impact: Transforming Vouchers into Memories

With their contribution, these ten artists will be more than just names on a list of winners.

Young people will be exploring Zoomarine, marveling at the cliffs of Ponta da Piedade in Lagos on a boat trip with the nautical company BOM DIA, and experiencing the thrill of seeing dolphins leaping in the waters of the Algarve.

It will be a unique opportunity for them to observe the world from a completely new perspective, transforming the calm they painted on paper into a real peace felt by the sea.

Call to Action: Help them "Land" in the Algarve

A blank page is never just empty. It's an invitation.

Today, this invitation is for you.

Don't let these dreams stay locked away in a drawer.

Contribute to the student support fund. You can do so by making a donation, even if it's just one euro, or by purchasing the book The World of Aviation – Air Museum .

In doing so, you will be offering yourself the peace evoked by Carl Jung, while helping a child to soar through their imagination.

If you are unable to contribute financially, your sharing and your voice can be the wind that carries these young people to the Algarve.

Let's transform these colorful stories into real memories.

Help us ensure that none of these talents are left behind.

Victor Palminha: Pedagogical Innovation and Social Impact - Profile and Career Path

Victor Palminha is a Visual and Technological Education teacher with over 48 years of experience in various Portuguese schools.

Currently, she coordinates the INOV E project – Innovate Your School, Innovate Portugal! – an initiative focused on sustainability, inclusion, and project-based learning. Her work seeks to bring schools closer to businesses and the community, building bridges between formal and informal education.

INOV Projects: Science, Art, and Sustainability

The impact of these actions was recognized in 2022 when the school won the Energy UP award. As a result of this distinction, solar panels were installed by GALP Solar, allowing for a significant reduction in the school's energy costs, with average savings of around one thousand euros per month on the electricity bill.

Art, Education and Mindfulness

In partnership with the Air Museum, located at Air Base No. 1 in Sintra, it participated in the publication of the book The World of Aviation – Air Museum , authored by João Fonseca Palminha.

The aircraft depicted in the pages of this book served as inspiration for the students participating in the Coloring the Sky contest.

This initiative uses drawing and painting as pedagogical and mindfulness tools, inspired by the principles of Carl Jung, promoting concentration, creativity, and the emotional well-being of students.

Social Commitment

Alongside his educational work, Victor Palminha currently leads a solidarity crowdfunding campaign, through the PPL platform, aimed at supporting students facing economic difficulties.

The goal is to ensure that the winners of the Coloring the Sky contest can fully enjoy their prize: a trip to the Algarve, where they will have access to various educational and recreational experiences.

Among the planned activities are visits to Zoomarine, the Adventure Park and Mini Golf, as well as boat trips in Ponta da Piedade, in Lagos, including the possibility of dolphin watching.

An Education that Transforms

Throughout his career, Victor Palminha has demonstrated that education can go far beyond the classroom, combining pedagogical innovation, sustainability, art, emotional well-being, and social responsibility.

Their work continues to inspire students, teachers, and communities, showing that learning is also about creating, dreaming, and transforming reality.
