Rebuilding houses in the Central Zone: LET'S HELP.

Rebuilding homes destroyed by Storm Kristin in Marinha Grande and Leiria with transparent and charitable donations.

Rebuilding homes destroyed by Storm Kristin in Marinha Grande and Leiria with transparent and charitable donations.

Storm Kristin left many families in the Marinha Grande and Leiria region without decent homes. Collapsed roofs, cracked walls, destroyed doors and windows, and the fear of ever having a safe home again. This campaign stems from the desire to help these families rebuild the bare minimum necessary to live with dignity: roofs, walls, doors, windows and, if possible, repairs to basic utilities.

Many of these people were already in a difficult situation before the storm, and now they find themselves with no choice: to live in the rain or in dangerous homes.

Our goal is:

  • Raising donations to buy building materials (cement, bricks, wood, metalwork, tiles, etc.);
  • Support small essential labor contracts (electrician, plumber, locksmith) whenever necessary;
  • Organize logistical support to deliver materials to the most affected homes.

The money raised will be used exclusively for the reconstruction of homes for identified families in the Marinha Grande and Leiria area. This is not a for-profit project, but a community effort to ensure that no one has to sleep under a broken roof.

How will transparency be guaranteed?

  • We will publish regular reports with photos and videos of the works in progress;
  • We will indicate which families or areas were supported (always with authorization);
  • We will show receipts and proof of purchase for materials and minimum payments for essential services.

Every donation, no matter how small, helps put a brick, a door, a roof over the head of someone who needs it most. If you can help, please choose an amount. If you can't donate now, please share this campaign with friends, social media, and local groups.

Together, we can rebuild more than houses: we can rebuild the future and hope.

About the author

This campaign is promoted by Bruno Faria, a resident of Marinha Grande, Leiria, who has volunteered to organize and coordinate fundraising for the reconstruction of homes destroyed or seriously damaged by Storm Kristin. The promoter is a non-profit organization: all money raised will be used exclusively for the purchase of construction materials, support for small essential labor contracts, and necessary logistics, never as personal remuneration. The work will be done in collaboration with residents, parish councils, and local professionals, always focusing on transparency: regular reports, photos of the work, and clear indication of the families and areas supported.

The prosecutor agrees to:

  • Do not use the funds for personal expenses;
  • Communicate the progress of the campaign and the works;
  • Share proof of expenses (photos of receipts and materials delivered, always safeguarding the privacy of families).

Budget and due dates

Budget description (€100,000)

The goal of this crowdfunding campaign is to raise €100,000 to help rebuild homes for families affected by Storm Kristin in areas such as Marinha Grande and other municipalities in the Central Region.

The money will be used in an organized and responsible manner, focusing on repairing or rebuilding at least 15-20 houses in the most damaged areas, so that families can once again have a safe and habitable home.

How will the estimated budget of €100,000 be distributed?

  • Construction materials (cement, brick, wood, metalwork, tiles, window frames, etc.): €50,000

These materials will be used to reconstruct roofs, walls, minimum floors, doors and windows, focusing on the most critical parts of the houses.

  • Specialized services (electrical installations, plumbing, locksmith, glazier, minor structural repairs): €25,000

Local professionals will be hired whenever necessary, avoiding dangerous improvisations.

  • Organized labor and volunteer work (bricklayers, helpers, additional volunteers): €15,000

Part of the money will be used for minimum wages or logistical support for small work teams that go to the affected homes.

  • Transportation, logistics and support materials (van, fuel, scaffolding, safety equipment, tools): €5,000

To ensure that materials reach homes and that the work is done safely.

  • Reserve and contingency (unforeseen events, cost differences, small extra materials): €5,000

To respond to emergencies or works that reveal additional needs already on site. All expenses will be recorded and published in a simple and transparent way, always with the aim of maximizing the number of houses rebuilt with this amount.
