Hello animal lovers!

The Caudas & Bigodes association greets and welcomes all the special people who love and care for furry friends. The Caudas & Bigodes association is also pleased to involve you in this dream and project. It emerged in 2019 thanks to the current president, who throughout her life has rescued, cared for, and unconditionally loved street animals. We have dozens of kittens in our cattery in Avanca, rescued from the streets, others victims of mistreatment, seniors, kidney patients, and those with FIV, without support from the Estarreja city council. All the furry friends are vaccinated, microchipped, and treated in the best veterinary clinics and hospitals in the country, thanks to an enormous daily struggle. In 2024, the number of animals increased, and there was a need to find a new space and peace. The dream became a reality, and the work began, but the money quickly ran out. The cattery is practically ready, except for the space for the FIV-positive animals.

The fundraising campaign aims to gather support for the construction of a dignified space to house kittens with FIV.

Kittens with FIV require special care, isolation, and a warm, comfortable space. FIV kittens are more susceptible to disease, so it's necessary to install materials with good thermal and acoustic insulation. Their life expectancy is lower if they are not kept in dignified conditions. Caring with love and dedication is our goal at our cattery.
