🌱Why We Need €3,000

The garden and the educational farm are the heart of Refúgio — everything begins here.
We have the land, the knowledge and the motivation, but we still need essential resources to begin.

With €3,000, we will be able to:

• Support the first animals of the educational farm: chickens, rabbits and dwarf goats — for education, care and sustainability

• Build regenerative garden beds

• Set up composting and organic soil amendments

• Purchase seeds and young plants (vegetables and perennial plants)

• Install a drip irrigation system (essential in the Alentejo climate!)

• Prepare the space for educational visits with children and families

Hi! I’m Vanessa, lovely to meet you 🤍
I’m the creator of Refúgio, a mom of three who wasn't made to live in the city. We are moving from Charneca to Cercal to make our dream come true.

This is a family-led project growing in Cercal do Alentejo with the intention of creating a simple, living and welcoming space.

Refúgio brings together land, learning and sharing through a regenerative garden, agro-tourism experiences and an educational farm for both children and adults.

I recently completed my Young Farmer training, and I have also studied Hospitality and Pastry Production Management at the Lisbon School of Hospitality and Tourism — preparing this project with practical knowledge, care for the land and a long-term vision.

I believe that caring for the earth is also a way of caring for people — and that the most beautiful projects grow slowly, with intention, patience and, above all, community.

Budget and due dates

Budget

The €3,000 raised will be used exclusively for the implementation of the Refugio's Vegetable Garden and the preparation of the space for educational and community activities.

Estimated budget allocation:

• Support for the educational area / first animals on the farm: € 600

• Drip irrigation system: €1.000

• Soil preparation (compost, straw, substrate): €500

• Organic seeds and plants: €300

• Materials for garden beds and crop protection: € 600

All expenses will be documented and shared with supporters through regular updates on the platform.

📅 Scheduling

• Month 1:
  Soil preparation, irrigation installation, and construction of garden beds.

• Month 2:
  Planting the first crops, sowing seeds, and organizing the learning area.

• Months 3 to 7:
  Maintaining the garden, monitoring its growth, and organizing initial events with the founders.

• Month 8:
  Start of educational visits and sharing of results with supporters.

Rewards will be delivered progressively, according to each tier, starting from the conclusion of the campaign.

🌱 This project will be developed in a phased and conscious manner, respecting the rhythms of nature and promoting regenerative practices. 🌱
