Mission: To prevent falls among the elderly!

We created this crowdfunding campaign to purchase products that help prevent falls in elderly people and those with physical disabilities.

Vizinhos is a project designed for people with mobility difficulties. Its goal is to prevent accidents at home, especially falls.

From this project, Casa Sénior was born, a website with up-to-date information, simple answers to common problems, and explanatory videos.

We want to increase access for people with fewer resources to materials and solutions that help prevent domestic accidents.

An accident at home can greatly affect quality of life. We believe that, with the right equipment, it's possible to reduce these risks, especially for those with physical limitations. At certain times in life, these limitations may be temporary, and it's important to ensure safe conditions at home.

The project is based on three main areas: referral, assessment, and intervention.

Every month we receive requests from people who need adaptations to their homes to prevent accidents. At the moment, we have few resources available to meet those needs.

To continue this work, we need your support.

About the author

Passo Positivo, based in Matosinhos, was founded in 2010 by a group of friends who voluntarily created and developed the project.

Our mission is to promote the safety and well-being of vulnerable people or those working in crisis situations. We work in collaboration with other institutions, helping to fill support gaps and develop skills, impacting different generations and promoting active citizenship.

Currently, we are developing three main projects:

• The Diaper Bank collects and distributes diapers, in addition to promoting training programs on the proper use of these materials in situations of incontinence.
• Vizinhos focuses on preventing domestic accidents in people with physical limitations. We conduct home visits and provide assistive equipment to increase safety at home.
• Humanitus trains professionals and volunteers for humanitarian work and promotes active citizenship in school and professional settings.

In addition to these projects, we also have an internal volunteer program and are part of the Matosinhos and Valongo Social Network.

Our team is made up of employees and volunteers, and we value qualified volunteers.
