About the author
Kids The Bright Stars - Mozambique was founded with the aim of supporting orphaned and needy children in Mozambique. The history of this organization begins with the story of its founder Cornélio Baptista Jaime.
Cornélio was born in 1996, in Mulevala province of Zambézia, Mozambique, into a poor family. Coming from a poor family, his childhood was marked by many difficulties, including the absence of his family, which forced him to work from an early age to survive.
In 2019, Cornélio moved from the province of Zambézia to the city of Maputo in search of better opportunities. Determined to continue his studies, he got his first job as a shoe shiner at the company DOPE SOLE, which operates in the shoe repair and maintenance business. At the same time, Cornélio enrolled in the Public Administration Degree course at Eduardo Mondlane University.
His work as a shoeshine boy lasted until April 2021, when he was hired by a renewable energy company, ENGIE Energy Access Mozambique, as a Customer Service Agent. He worked in this role until August 2023. Cornélio was then hired by another company in the renewable energy sector, GLP | SUN KING Mozambique, where he played the role of Customer Service Executive in the city of Nampula.
Despite his professional growth, Cornélio never forgot the difficulties he faced as a child. With a selfless spirit and a strong desire to help children going through situations similar to his own, he founded the organization Kids The Bright Stars - Mozambique. With the support of friends and colleagues, Cornélio established the organization to provide a better future for orphaned and disadvantaged children in Mozambique. Kids The Bright Stars - Mozambique was born with the mission of promoting the development and well-being of children in situations of social vulnerability, offering them education, food, medical care and extracurricular activities. Through its effort and dedication, Kids The Bright Stars - Mozambique is a light of hope for many vulnerable children in Mozambique.
Cornelius' story is an inspiring example of how a determined person can make a difference in the lives of many others and transform lives. Since he was a child, Cornelius has always had a keen eye on the difficulties that he, as the poorest child, faced in his village. Cornelius' example of dedication and solidarity inspires everyone who knows his story and motivates other people to get involved in social causes in their communities. Cornélio is a true symbol of hope and dedication, whose vision and effort are making a significant difference in the lives of many children in Mozambique.
