22,919 Smiles for Life!
"Smile" is the most beautiful of verbs but, unfortunately, every day we see thousands of older people who are unable to practice this verb. Every day, thousands of older people, in a hospital context (but not only), live with the piercing silence of the empty walls of their rooms, left alone to sadness, abandoned and neglected, while they fight against illnesses such as dementia, cancer or probably the worst of all: Loneliness.
At Palhaços d'Opital we want to make it possible for more than 22,919 older people to practice the most beautiful verb in the world again. Therefore, we intend to bring more Joy, more Smiles, more Music and more Affection to adults in 2024, with your contribution.
No. 22,919 results from 6 news items that have impacted our media in recent times. From abandonment to mistreatment, including domestic violence (and more), we found that more than 22,919 Older People need Clowns d'Opital to count on company and joy, to regain hope in a better world and to smile again.
Life is too short not to smile... Do we smile together?
