This is our EP "Blossom Age" that we want to bring it to your ears!

It’s not the first A Beta Movement recording but is definitely the best one so far. We got a producer, went to the studio, invited some musicians, had an engineer to mix and edited in 200 copies in vinyl. Now we need your participation to expand our work!

In a sense we want finance the physical edition and make yet another one (only 200 copies isn’t enough, is it?), so that our music reaches further...

Our work is done for now and just needs your participation for this EP to blossom even more.

The advantage in your support is that your will not have to wait for the end of the "process" to have exclusive access in advance to the 12" vinyl with 4 songs (and other great stuff) because it is already packed and ready to send.

The main goal of this crowdfunding is to be able to raise the issue of another 300 copies and also promote this work, but that also costs money, you know?

So your participation will be essential, especially because in addition to having the opportunity to own the first edition of this work we will be working only for you doing custom things with lot’s of love and, perhaps, you can even take to your home (a garage also serves!) for an exclusive concert without having to bother with logistics (this offer is valide to Portugal only).

About the author

A BETA MOVEMENT is a musical project from Porto, created in 2008 by Pedro Oliveira Cordeiro and Secundino. This creative core, open to experimentation exposes the indie compositions of one with the digital manipulations of the another.

They released the 1st EP in 2010, and stand out to win the category of Alternative Music in Rock Rendez Worten, together with radio airplay, interviews and concert halls in Porto and Lisbon. In July 2011, Marcela Freitas joins the gang to take the lead voice, the feminine aesthetic was integrated in full in the Beta Movement.

In April 2012, it’s released the single with video for "color mixing system", the song had great reviews on national and international online editions, highlighted by the collaboration with the Modest Mouse indie publisher. In Portugal they got to VODAFONE FM play-list and in August, they played in Paredes de Coura Festival, in the JN stage, this coincided with the entry of Hugo Mesquita for the rhythm section.

Currently they are preparing to issue the new EP "Blossom Age" and finishing the recording of a new video. The new recording represents the flowering of a new era, the combination of an real and fictional imaginary.

Budget and due dates

As despesas necessárias para o essencial já foram efectuadas na gravação, mistura e edição do vinil 12" (200 cópias). O restante material será facilmente produzido pela nossa parte, como grande parte dos músicos independentes quase todos temos duas profissões e como tal temos um designer e um fotógrafo preparadíssimos para produzir o merchandising das recompensas. Assim que termine o projecto de crowdfunding e este seja bem sucedido todo o material estará embalado e pronto para enviar no prazo de 2/3 semanas. O apoio que nós pedimos é para ajudar a cobrir os custos da primeira edição e expandir a uma segunda edição de mais 300 cópias, para além de possibilitar a produção de mais material de apoio para a banda (+ t-shirts, + fotografias, + vídeos, etc) e promoção de modo a sustentar o projecto e congregar mais público. Estimamos que o valor de 1800€ seja o suficiente para cobrir parte da primeira edição e a totalidade da segunda edição bem como para adquirir o material necessário para as recompensas e o seu envio e investir em planos de divulgação e promoção deste trabalho na imprensa.
