An acoustic journey through the traditional Portuguese repertoire side by side with original compositions. Join in
and be part of the funding to make this project come true.
Luís Peixoto is one of the most acclaimed Portuguese folk string players. After being part of and accompanying countless groups and artists, in 2017 he launched his solo career with “Assimétrico”, which brought him wide recognition.
Always seeking new musical paths, and carrying on in his own name, 2021 is the year that gives birth to “Geodesia". With an updated sound and focused mainly on the mandolin, Luís Peixoto is joined in this new work by two Iberian friends: the Catalan Ciscu Cardona (guitar) and Asturian Rubén Bada (violin). As an acoustic trio, the new album is a journey through the traditional Portuguese repertoire along with original compositions. But “Geodesia” doesn’t end in this trio or within one geography, quite the opposite. It radiates Portuguese sounds throughout Iberia and beyond. There are guest musicians from all over the Peninsula, the Canary Islands, Cape Verde and Finland, who enhance and push the boundaries of this “Geodesia”. As a solo artist, but with several friends, this album shows so vividly Luis Peixoto’s essence and musical soul, his and our own “Geodesia”.
