The Principe Project 2019 aims to take Sonha, Faz e Acontece mission back to the Principe island, for the eighth consecutive year. During 3 months, 11 Portuguese volunteers and 5 volunteers from São Tomé share our mission: We dream and make it happen education and social development in African Portuguese Speaking Countries (PALOP).
Our focus is to correspond to the real needs of Principe island communities, we develop several activities within education and social entrepreneurship.
1. Entrepreneurship Contest - Entrepreneurship, English and Computing training; Local business mentorship; Monetary prizes for two winners and long distance mentorship.

2. Xináa Fogáa Holiday Camp (“Learning by playing”) – holiday camp for around 100 kids, between 6 and 12 years old, with play and educational activities.

3. Professional Internships - short-term professional internships to youth between 16 and 18 years old, in partnership with local businesses. To promote as a way to bring the youth of the Island closer to the labor market.
4. Infrastructure Rehabilitation linked to education – Improvement of conditions in access to education through an infrastructure intervention that will enable children and youth of the communities to continue their school activities.
About the author
Back in 2010, moved by eager to create value, a group of friends flew to Principe island in Sao Tome and Principe. They discovered a different reality, where happiness and smiles impose, but were the dreams for a different future or an alternative to their reality was impossible.
Books to read, teachers to teach, libraries to study, training in several areas. In Principe, it had and still has a lot to do in education. The Sonha, Faz e Acontece wants to participate in this change, which reveals urgent.
To educate is to care for the future! It was like that, that in April of 2012, Sonha, Faz e Acontece was born, a volunteering and entrepreneurship association, which has a dream to promote education and sustainable development in African Portuguese Speaking Countries. We began in Principe island, but we want to take education wherever is necessary. Nowadays we have two projects - one in Portugal and another one in Principe island - all the help and donations are needed to implement our projects.
We are talking about education. Education is synonymous of freedom. Education is "the strongest weapon that we could use to change the world", Nelson Mandela.

Budget and due dates
A campanha de crowdfunding termina no dia 5 de Julho. Ao longo dos últimos 9 meses, os voluntários organizaram diversas atividades de fundraising, tendo angariado, até ao momento, cerca de 4.000 euros. O nosso objetivo é angariar, através desta plataforma de crowdfunding, o valor necessário (em falta) para desenvolver todas as atividades previstas.
This is the seventh time that Principe Project is partly financed in a crowdfunding platform. In 2013, we were able to raise the necessary amount to finance the rehabilitation of Abade School and in the following years always exceeded the goals.
In case that our campaign is totally financed, there are two commissions: 5% + IVA charged by PPL and another 2,5% + IVA to cover the partner's commissions (PayPal, Multibanco, etc.). In this case, if we are able to raise 2.500 €, the total commission's value is 230,63 €, being 2.269,38 € the net value of the Project.
