To constitute an association, to reconstitute the Solidarity ...

An aid to inclusion and respect in diversity: Solidarity Soul is our new voluntary association and appeal to social causes. It was conceived in September 2017 and has since been preparing its constitution.

Our basic idea is inclusion. We want to promote humanistic values, tolerance and respect for difference. Volunteering and appeal to social causes may address various activities within the framework of solidarity. But these will preferably allow the contact of people of different ages, classes, health conditions, region, culture, and other relevant groups.

This campaign is the call to help us make a difference. We count on the support of all so that, here, we can raise funds for the costs of legal constitution, website, recruitment of volunteers and activities. We set a first goal of 750 € (€ 685 net), however the ideal would be to raise € 1200 (€ 1090 net). The budget below details the application of the funds.

That is why this campaign is the way everyone can contribute, helping us to help. We will promote general awareness of the needs of the student of special need with the testimony in the first person of Renata Viana, member of our team and bearer of a hereditary and progressive disease. It will also collect and disseminate information to university students on the opportunities available to do international volunteering, which is sought by many of our colleagues and which lacks a platform for dissemination. We have, for example, the testimony of the European Solidarity Corps volunteer and President of the association José Tiago Sousa, who was in support of the victims of several earthquakes last year. We will plan and prepare the ongoing volunteer activities we will begin in the 2018-19 school year and we will also undertake some one-off activities with a broader scope. These include our participation in volunteering at the Food Bank. The documents include the plan of activities of a planned nature, it is expected that it will undergo changes.

These initial actions will focus on the city of Porto. However, our volunteering will not be restricted to large urban centers, as we also intend to intervene in the periphery, which is unfortunately often forgotten. The concrete example of the cleaning of the Mindelo ornithological reserve will be an initiative that will combine this scope and the ecological cause. We also intend to play an active role in the fulfillment of personal needs and also to act in an informative way, namely on opportunities and projects that may be of interest to the community.

And let's leave a Smile on the way, because, in the context of difficulty, a smile makes a difference.
