Ana, João C., João P. and Renata need to go to Sheffield to carry out their International classification that will allow them to fight for a place in the National Team of Adapted Swimming.
The ADADA PORTO Adapted Swimming Team currently has four motor-disabled athletes who are likely to represent the National Team in the European Championship organized by the International Paralympic Committee to be held in Dublin, Ireland, next August.
They established minimum access times for this prestigious sport event, and are now obliged to submit to an International Classification process for homologation of the marks obtained and the attribution of their sport classes (in adapted swimming, athletes are grouped by classes according to the type of deficiency).
Only after the conclusion of this process can they aspire to a convocation by the Portuguese Swimming Federation.
One of the phases of this process is the evaluation in the context of competition but none of the events organized in Portugal makes this International Classification possible. The geographically and financially most reasonable option is the participation in the British Para Swimming International Meet, which will take place between May 28 and June 3 in Sheffield (GBR)
