One of the missions of The Shelter Project is to help in the improvement of the infrastucture of associations and animal shelters. Come help us accomplish this mission!
NAAAS - Support Center for Abandoned Animals of Sintra is a non-profit association dedicated to caring for abandoned animals or victims of abuse in the municipality of Sintra and its neighbors. On the 1st of April, they are celebrating their 11th anniversary. 11 years during which they sheltered, fed and provided the veterinary treatments these animals were needing while waiting to be adopted. And they continue to do so every day.
All work is done by volunteers and the survival of this association is based exclusively on the contributions and donations of associates and people sensitive to the cause. Its protégés consume about 80 kg of food per day and the expenses of veterinary treatments, vaccines and medicines are very high.
At this moment, one of the areas of NAAAS needs to be rehabilitated. Some of the boxes where the animals live are degraded and do not provide adequate protection against bad weather conditions. The roof of these boxes has to be replaced in order to isolate the interior from rain and low temperatures. It often rains inside on the beds of the animals and the temporary solution was to put a plastic foil directly under the ceiling.
It is urgent to raise the necessary amount to proceed with the work as quickly as possible and provide these animals with the conditions they deserve while waiting for a family.
After following the previous campaign launched by The Shelter Project, which led to the rehabilitation of the space of the Abrigo de Stª Bárbara, NAAAS contacted us to help them with this fundraising. It was impossible to remain indifferent and we want to do everything in our power to complete this work. Help us make another dream come true and offer them this great birthday gift!
